    Like 1999 Tszyu?

    I see combustion.

What affect would those rights and body shots have vs Programs. Idk.

I will say Tszyu more basic than Taylor..

Kind of a toss up but leaning Tszyu right now based on accomplishments

I like Regis but I think Kostya beats him by UD or late stoppage. Tyszu was that good.

Tszyu was a great Junior Welter but let’s not act like he was a world beater. He did get KO’d by Vince Phillips who lost to every good fighter he’s fought besides Tszyu. I think Regis vs Tszyu is a true 50/50 fight.

    Definitely worth discussing.

Prograis got plenty of fight in him. Which he will need.

Up and coming Tszyu might get a little to keen to end it. Which will give Regis a chance late if Kostya runs out of steam.

Kostya feasts on leftys though and I think he has got the goods at his best to stop the Louisiano in the mid-late rounds.

    Cracking match up.

Would have to side with Tszyu but Regis would make him work hard for it.

Prograis would give Tszyu a good tussle but sooner or later Tszyu's right hand will land. Tszyu did well against southpaws. Just to give you an idea.

I agree. That embarrassing knockout that he gave Zab Judah makes people believe that he was a dominate fighter. He wasn't and Prograis has a solid chance in this match up.

You obviously didn't watch his career then because apart from that freak loss to phillips he was a dominant fighter

Mikey Tyson lost to Buster Douglas I guess he wasn't a world beater either

    Amateur record

Tszyu 259-11 (I've also seen it listed as 260-10)

    Tszyu 31-2 (25 KOs) KO 73%

    Number of world champions fought

    Tszyu 15 (13-2)

    Number of world title fights

    18

That's a lot of world title fights folks and most world champions do not go undefeated in that many world title fights, let alone do so fighting as often on the road or in their opponent's backyards as Tszyu which he did a staggering 16 times which is almost half of his total 34 fights, never mind doing so whilst having fought 15 world champions

    For example

Number of world title fights and world champions fought and amount of times on the road

    Some from the current generation

Spence = 7 and 7 world champion and only 1 or 2 on the road in 28 fights

Inoue = 19 and I think it's 8 world champions fought, 3 on the road, in 24 fights

GGG = 25 and 6 world champions fought in 45 fights, all bar one on the road

Crawford = 17 and 9 and only 1 on the road in 39 fights

Bivol = 10 and 4 world champions and fought on the road lots of times in 21 fights

Beterbiev = 7 and 4 world champions and fought on the road a bunch of times in 18 fights

Usyk = 9 and 6 world champions in 20 fights, all world title fights and last 11 fights on the road

Jermello = 9 and 4 world champions in 37 fights, one on the road

Jermall0 = 10 and 3 world champions fought in 32 fights, none on the road

Josh Taylor = 6 and 5 world champions fought in 19 fights, fought on the road a bunch of times

Rougarou = 3 and 4 world champions fought in 29 fights, a couple on the road

Loma = 15 and 11 world champions fought, in 19 fights, fought on the road lots of times

^^ 15 world title fights and 11 world champions fought in just 19 fights is crazy

Go back to the previous generation or slightly before this one

Just 2 examples but I could go on for days

Kovalev = 17 and 7 champions fought in 40 fights, almost all on the road

Andre Ward = 9 world title fights, 6 world champions fought, none on the road, in 32 fights

Tszyu also unifying twice in his opponent's country and won his first world title in his opponent's country too. So he won all his world titles in his opponent's country and defended his titles many times on the road and in his opponent's country

Obviously to anyone with a brain that isn't the size of a peanut winning on the road or in your opponent's home country is more difficult and therefore more impressive than beating them in your backyard/country where often everything is stacked in your favour and against your opponent and it's more difficult for a whole host of different factors that combine to make it so.

Some of said factors individually are enough to be the difference between going home with a W or an L, let alone combined. Only complete morons fail to grasp this. Beating Zab Judah or Sharmba Mitchell in their country>>>beating them in Australia or Russia. Winning away>>winning at home.

There's a reason why many fighters are reluctant to travel or fight in their opponent's backyard/country or flat-out refuse to ever do so and that reason is because they know it increases their chance of losing, by hook or by crook, and because they know the deck is either going to be stacked against them or the best case scenario is it'll be level-ish playing field and some fighters have a deep aversion to fighting on the later.

I love Rougarou and he's a damned good fighter but the disrespect for Tszyu is ridiculous

Its a great fight no doubt, but you have to look at what Tyszu did after the Phillips fight to see that it was a really just a lucky Night for Vinny mac. Those "lucky nights" can happen to anybody. Regis would have a chance but his willingness to engage, shifts the odds in Tyszu favor especially given the fact that Tyszu had a missile of a right hand and was accurate asf with it.

Most people just see Tyszu power but he had underrated timing and accuracy. I don’t see Regis beating him.
