Beterbiev should destroy Yarde, but he could also definitely just age over night. I feel like once a boxer passes the age of 36, you see them fall off quite a lot. That being said obviously picking Beterbiev, but woukln't be that shocked if Yarde pulling off a miracle due to his age and Yarde carrying power.

Nah I disagree with the whole “He just stood in front of Artur” thing. Oleksandr tried using angles and tried to turn Beterbiev in there. It was that nonstop CONSTANT pressure (Effective pressure I’ll add) that wore down The Nail along with those strong right hands that Artur landed along the way.

I actually picked Gvozdyk to win by KO in this fight. Beterbiev really surprised me.

A bet on Yarde who is young fast powerful and athletic is not stupid also you need to factor in Uncle Tunde’s System 9. If it works you could be on to a winner.

Beterbiev is gonna be one of those fighters that people will look at and say 'no special effects I can't see why he's so good' twenty years from now. He is that good because his fundamentals are very solid, he has great balance and is physically as good as its possible to be at the weight. He doesn't overextend himself and is always busy with his short triphammer blows. This means that his pressure is relentless and that he doesn't leave many holes for guys to catch him off balance or out of position. A short clip doesn't do him justice - you have to see him work through a bout to realise that he's working to a strategy. Much like a builder, he puts his plan into action brick by brick until there's a wall between his opponent and victory. He basically grinds his opponents to dust.

    Yes he is.
Beterbiev has knocked out every opponent he has faced.

Well put. His fight plan execution is top class. He comes in the ring and dictates. He takes control of the spirit of the fight. Not recklessly so, but with prudence.

Depends what you define as "being really that good"

The power is real, the most feared boxer to come up against and he never lets you off the hook as Browne found out.

Is he beatable? Yes but I only currently see 1 other guy who could do that and that's Bivol who is a great already Imo, his ring general and IQ is already one of the best in the sport. Even then it'll be tough work for Bivol to see Beterbiev off but I believe he notwithstanding believe he does so.

Yarde can KO (small chance) him but he has to come out all guns blazing and trade blow for blow.....either way someone's getting KO'd fairly early.

Forget about that. Bivol needs to hold out for that Canelo rematch payday before AB puts the good ol' Canadian spanks on that ass. White and Red ftw baybay!

But yeah, his prime is behind him. Look for paydays and get out. What is Haye doing these days?

You Rank Crawford and Spence highly but he has a better win than both of those guys. What does that say about them?

After seeing this I think his prime was absolutely in the amateurs, sadly we'll never know what he could have accomplished if he'd turned pro younger. But he'll never be highly ranked in light heavyweight history, his time is just too small

The narrative regarding him is going to be formed by his losses if and when he does lose. The fact that he's 38 in a couple of weeks, didn't turn pro until very late when he was 28.5 years old, has been fighting for 29 years and had and extremely extensive 300 + bout amateur career fighting with a very aggressive pro orientated style - and a fighters who fight with that style are often finished long before they're his age, and his career has been blighted with long spells of inactivity is all context which will be conveniently ignored by many.

That being said, he's already proved many of them wrong by achieving everything he has despite his late start, his age, and inactivity working against him and had he turned pro in his teens or early 20s he would've obviously and undoubtedly achieved a hell of a lot more because he spent a huge amount of his prime years fighting in the amateurs and injury wouldn't have been near as much an issue because there would've been less wear and tear on his body.

But they won't hold him to the same standard they do their boys and favourites the vast majority of whom were completely washed up by the time they were 38, younger or even much younger than that in some instances.
