    Tom Sharkey 5' 8" 185lbs v Joe Frazier 5'11" 205lbs prime for prime.
    Fifteen rounds 1950's rules
Sharkey has a year to acclimatise himself to the rule set

    Who is your pick?

The only footage of Tom Sharkey that exists is 1 minute long of his fight against Jeffries so can't compare nothing even then common sense tells you that Frazier would DEMOLISH that 19th century fighter. Worthless thread

Some have drawn a measure of comparison between Sharkey and Marciano but Rocky was that bit bigger and hit harder than Tom (per reading of fight complexions and outcomes for Sharkey).

Joe could maul and maim a bigger and stronger guy like Chuvalo into defeat - I think he could do same in at least as quick the time if not faster against Sailor Tom.

Then again, although bigger than Sharkey, the awkward, rough, tough style of Bonavena was no picnic for Joe - but still, I don’t think Sharks would present the same issues due to being smaller than Ringo - just a guess

I gotta go with Joe to do a number on Tom. Sharkey won't quit so it will be up to the ref to stop it after Sharkey just can't cope with the Frazier onslaught

We would have to make Frazier the favorite, but it might be fun while it lasted.

Joe sinks the sailor's ship. Sharkey tough and mean but Joe too swift and strong.

This ,,,,Sharkeys toughness would require several rounds of pounding to finish him. Won't be pretty

Sharkey was barely an amateur in skillset who seemed to learn on the job as his career progressed. Frazier was a completed work after a dozen fights. If Sharkey tried to brawl with Frazier this is over early. If he tries to use whatever boxing skills he gathered against Frazier this is also over early.
