I agree with this and have always been a Fury fan, but the guy is obviously almost done. Evidence...

    1) The difference is quality between his second fight with Wilder, and his third, which was caused by elbow injuries and inability to train properly

    2) The talk of retirement

    3) Taking on Derrick Chisora for a third time rather than even fight a tune-up against, say Kabeyal

    4) He said so at one point.

Also, whereas Fury dwarfs Usyk, Usyk is a southpaw who is capable of throwing a thousand punches in a fight, so they both have advantages over the other.

    I know Fury-Usyk is a priority, but I think Fury-Usyk will probably resemble Wlad-Ibragimov. I don't expect much excitement.

In terms of style matchups ... its a classic DUD. So the sooner Fury and Usyk get that jab, grab and shove fest over, the sooner we can get on to more exciting bouts at heavyweight. Usyk has only fought once a year at heavyweight, and he'll probably only fight once in 2023, too. So if they drag it out and don't fight until close the summer, that will suck. The earlier the better.

It's not a style matchup that lends itself to an exciting affair. So, let's get this on so we can get on with other fights.

Hopefully it happens in March. That way we can get Fury-Joyce this year, too. That would be a fun fight.

Witherspoon and Chisora absolutely were tune-ups for his HW run.
Both were old and a waste of time, training camps and injuries.
The fact Chisora keeps getting big fights because of his brand doesn't mean he's actually a real contender still.

    LOL.

Fury just had a title defense against one of those wastes of time.

Agree totally with this, it seems that quality of competition gets overlooked in favor of stats very often these days. Pointing to a bunch of numbers and percentages and zeros and title belts means little to me.

I would excuse Fury's easy picks, but only if he were defending often against all the top guys. At Fury's age he should have already faced everyone even remotely important. Fighting Wilder 3X, when he showed plainly in the first fight that he was superior, was a waste and then you have guys like DW and DC, who were in no way gonna beat Tyson Fury.

I wish they were all fighting at least 4-5 times per year, that would be amazing!

Lol First off nobody cares about anybody cleaning out the cruiser weight division. The cruiser weight division has always been the worst division in boxing. As a heavyweight who did Usyk beat? A old Chazz Witherspoon who was never good to begin with? A old Derek Chisora who was never good to began with and everybody beats him? Wow he beat Joshua the hype job that Andy Ruiz beat easier. So is Andy Ruiz a all time great too?

Um Tyson Fury isn't good. Tyson Fury beat a old Wlad and a unskilled Wilder. Tyson Fury doesn't know how to do anything well besides hand pick his opponents. If Usyk beats Fury that doesn't make you a all time great. How does beating two level fighters make you a all time great? Ruiz also beat Joshua. is Andy Ruiz is all time great? If you say no then if Andy Ruiz beats Wilder then would that make him a all time great?

Tune ups may be the worst things ever invented in human history. In the Bruce Lee films do you ever see him have a tune up fight with Conor Mcgegor before he takes on Chuck Norris? NO! CAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO FLIPPING WATCH HIM FIGHT NOOOBS!!!! Lol sorry I’m just In a bad mood. Especially with that pathetic Tank Davies fight.

How much does Fury care about his legacy? If he beats Usyk and AJ, he's got a pretty good claim to being a top 20 or so.
