Although Parker who he knocked out in his last fight will be back in the ring soon, I've seen no reports or even rumors of who Joe Joyce will face next. I'd like to see Wilder-Joyce but it looks like Deontay is fighting Ruiz. Joshua-Joyce would be interesting, but Joshua will have a couple of confidence-building fights first. The best opponent would be Fury, but it looks like he'll be fighting Usyk next. Time is running out, he's age 37 and he should remain active before it's too late. So what's next for Joe Joyce?
JJ needs to fight the absolute best he can - I'd love to see him in against anyone considered in the top 5, the winner of Wilder-Ruiz, the winner of Fury-Usyk (or any of those fighters if the fights fall through), Zhang or whoever.
Maybe JJ could do a "George Foreman" and fight Whyte, Chisora, Areola, Helenius & Ortiz all in one night?
Frank Sanchez, Otto Wallin or Fillip Hrgovic would make sense from a WBO perspective... Makmudov or Bakole are outside bets too. I think any of those would be good fights for him.
He'll take a stay busy fight while he waits for the dust to settle between Fury and Usyk. He then will either get the winner of that match-up, or fight for one of the belts they won't be able to keep.
AJ and Joe are both looking for fights; it should be that simple but no way AJ has the stones to fight Joyce. Whyte, Hrgovic, Ortiz would all be good fights. Hrgovic is still undefeated and needs to prove himself after the Zhang performance so that would be the next best IMO. Time is not running out for Joe Joyce. His style relies on power and fitness which don't leave you as long as you keep training. Not like Usyk and to some degree Fury, who rely more on speed. He doesn't have too many miles and the clock, either.
I would love to see Joyce-Zhang, definitely a barn burner! If Ruiz somehow gets past Wilder, it would seem his chin is made of rock and would be a good fight for JJ, perhaps?
I'm not sure about that. Sanchez is the better boxer, he is similar to Usyk. He moves well, he is agile, fast and accurate. As far as I'm concerned, Sanchez beats the heavy & clunky Joyce. And for that reason, I don't think Joyce will fight Sanchez.
