That's true. I'll restate. The guy's cut was horrific and the fight deserved to be stopped on a TKO. Rice didn't do **** though and there should be a rematch.

Rice is extremely lucky that punch opened the cut because he landed about 12 punches through 6 rounds and was going to a clear UD loss.

On balance.... The cut was bad and it came from a punch.. Rules are rules.

The instant replay on the spot was iffy.... But so was the ref not initially calling the headbutt until the doctor came in. Anticlimactic result but the correct one if we're going by the rule book. Appalling job from the ref and the commission and it most certainly needs to be run back as Rice was clearly losing the fight prior to landing that punch.

So if a fighter is losing a fight, he should be punished for landing a big punch that opens up a cut? FOH

Is it? It's a sport with very restricting rules, not a street fight.

Sure, but every cut isnt caused by a headbutt either, and its the refs job to rule it correctly, and in this case be able to see a replay of what actually happened that way he makes the right call.

Jermaine Franklin is a top ten heavyweight now? I need to come around more often.

How can you make the rules based on how thin someone's skin is? Lol.

**** a rematch. Let Dychko fight them back to back on the same night. They'll both be sleeping in under five rounds total.

It's terrible luck for Guido, and yeah I think that it's a little funky they decided to use replays despite their no replays rule. But the cut came from a punch and not a headbutt like the ref was trying to claim. So on one hand I'm sad for Vianello because he was certainly on the way to a comfortable victory, but on the other I'm happy a ref got called out on a stupid call for once.
