Fury and Arum Holding Up Fury-Usyk, They Don't Think Usyk Deserves 50%

Well Usyk deserves more than Chisora but probably not 50%.

 

Fury 60/40 is fair.

 

Bob Arum is Don King tier trash but with less style.

 

If Usyk wants 50%, he needs to go and get some fans.
If its at Wembley, there will be 80K Fury fans and the rest will be a mix of Usyk fans and Fury haters.
50/50 at Wembley is not fair at all.

 

Thats cool and all but also a scandlous move from Arum and Co to maximize their profits. Why would Abu Dhabi who has the money to stage an event that big all of a sudden send an offer thats not acceptable just for Arum and Waren to try to then stage the fight at Wembley Stadium? It makes no sense, and will most likely be the case when its all said and done. Ridiculous

 

Im not sure Wembley makes more than Abu Dhabi. But as has been said, If it ends up at Wembley then Fury should get a bigger slice of the pie.
50/50 is fine in Arabia if thats what they want to pay the fighters, it's their money after all.

There are no defining rules to this A side B side thing.

Unless im corrected , its something Floyd Mayweather invented back in the day when he titled himself the A side believing he brought all the money to the table.

From Furys perspective he brings the network and the PPV model. He brings a sell out capacity to Wembley Stadium. And he is the undefeated lineal WBC Champ.

50/50 is always fair but Fury and is side are doing the majority of the work - venue , promotion , security etc.

 

A-side typically starts the contract negotiations and will typically see a greater revenue split, their name first on promotion and walk to the ring last. It's about precedence. There is always one party who has more leverage over the other and there is precedence to dictate that.

There are RARE circumstances where the traditional A-side swaps role and this is only really the case where MONEY trumps everything.

The best recent example of this RARE RARE case is BUM Charles Martin selling his IBF belt to an even bigger MONEY BUM Anthony Joshua who was the A-side...because money talks and plastic belts walk to the highest bidder. Fury was stripped off this belt after 10 days of beating Wlad. AJ walked 2nd but was the lead name on the promotion and started the contract negotiations because Eddie ran the promotion.

Moral of the story? The cream always rises and bum dossers will be exposed with time.
