This fight was also horribly promoted. Even Half of my fight fan friends had no idea he was fighting that day.

The promoters wanna be greedy, so this is what happens. They like losing money it seems because they keep putting almost every big name in their stables on PPV. This was a Showtime triple header at best.

Less than a third of the buy-rate some YouTubers playing at boxing fetch. Yeesh.

Exactly this. He drew 19,731 to see him fight Héctor Luis García, for a $5 million gate. He broke the Rolling Stones' record to become the Capital One Arena's leader in ticket sales.

But shelling out to attend live fights in person is one thing, especially if you live in D.C. and personally know or at least know of some of the undercard fighters; you have to be an utter dweeb to drop the better part of a C-note on a PPV starring Tank. Granted almost no PPV should be $75 really IMO, but maybe I'm just stuck in 2010...but if anybody's worth that nowadays, it ain't him.

Call me a dweeb. LOL But you are right. I can think of a few PPV worthy fights right now. It is getting ridiculous now. Anyone with a pulse in the sport is getting PPV events. I think, fans will start keeping their money and wait for more meaningful fights before they s Pay $75 for a fight again.

They should learn the lesson they're gonna pay every time they fail to deliver the fights we want to see

They don’t need to save as the fight made serious money. Tank sells out arenas.

True, but fans love spending money on what they want, you see it with other sports all the time, it's just mismatch match making that's causing this.

True but that has been a regular problem for Boxing regardless of which promotional entity.

I heard the ringside seats were $5,000-$10,000. All those rappers got some $$$ to spend.
