It would be great to see him at Wincobank bringing through the next generation wouldn't it. My mate Bob who helps run our gym used to train there, one of his close friends is Mick Mills who used to box pro for Ingle Sr. I really do hope some of the retired Ingle pros help the next wave.
He must have enough money by now, and surely having "one more" because he's apparently struggling in retirement is indicative of bigger issues. I wonder if he regrets some of the paths his career took, after beating Porter he maybe should have been in better fights, unifications perhaps, than getting a potentially career shortening beating from a near prime GGG, boiling back to 147 for that brutal fight with Spence......maybe an earlier step up to 154 would have been beneficial..... Either way, I thought he had a brilliant career, won Lonsdale belt outright, went to America, beat a legitimate champion in a rampaging Shawn Porter......... I'd just like him to realise it's over, went out with a high profile win, nice payday..... Hopefully someone with his best interests at heart gets a grip of him, and not those that could make a few quid off him taking a beating......
What's the betting we get Kell vs Conor Benn next? If Kell is looking to fight the Eubank v Smith winner I can see Hearn swooping and trying to make a fight against his 2 failed drugs test supremo
I think it happens at 154lb. Hearn will sell Brook with the PPV upside. Brook gets beat for less money than he thought he’d get
Another easy payday for Eubank, smaller guy past his prime, probably be ppv and a load of needle in the build up, then onto Conor Benn for another ppv against a smaller guy, he’s hitting the jackpot
Kell is 37 in a few months and plenty of mileage on the clock. Did not live the life outside of the ring for a substantial part of his career, hence the ballooning up in weight between fights. He would be well advised to stay away from Smith and Eubank Jnr at this stage. He wants no part of Smith anyway, that fight has been attempted several times. I see a Benn fight as the more likely (sadly). Kell should 100% stay retired, even though we all suspect he won't. A lot of these fights being talked about just show the sad state of British boxing- promoters and fighters desperately grasping for pay days in meaningless, irrelevant fights trying to trade on some past glories. Kell is done, retired, and has nothing constructive to offer the sport, he got the night he craved and the perfect goodbye. He has had a great career, earned many millions and should enjoy his retirement.
Ingle gym has been crap for years. Results don't lie, their fighters have been taking losses non stop .Dominic just clearly isn't all that good of a trainer. They have no top fighters of note there atm
