What is pro matchroom or AJ content though ? Like today i posted criticising Hearn but if he delivers a big fight im interested in i may praise him and i know their are one or two trolls who will call me a shill. Likewise im a huge Fury fan, i also think AJ is a world class HW yet when i pointbout puddings dont win world tirles a certain poster here accuses me of being an alt account

Echo what others have said. Used to post on here quite a bit but it’s just got silly in the last year. Literally every thread gets turned into something about Joshua being a pudding and Hearn getting the blame when the thread is nothing to do with them. It’s just bizarre and most decent posters will just leave because elf it.

Jesus wept, Let me get this straight, people are reporting people for posting "game changed" or slagging off their favourite boxer etc?

And we now have a thread about it ?

State of this is embarrassing, I reckon that if you get your knickers in a twist about someone posting something that isn't what everyone can outwardly see is below the belt (racism, open threats etc) then you are deserved of a ban for going as far as running to the headmaster.

Can you mute people ? I've never had the need to, but this surely must be the option if you are that delicate.

Banter is needed, banter is subjective granted, but without it, the forum is dead.

If other people feel this way, they should definitely speak up.

For me there's very clearly a problem: the number of reports and bans emanating from this forum makes that undeniable. Everyone who has posted in this thread so far agrees there's some sort of problem, apart from this guy, so if anyone feels the way he does, (that nothing should be done) they should speak up.

I don’t think that’s the problem to be fair. When every thread turns into the same boring thing it’ll turn people off, loads of good posters have left and it’s no coincidence. I’ve never reported anyone but I liked posting on here until it turned into the same repetitive nonsense and I’m sure plenty have done the same.

I have a question, a bit more more general....

I'm not a huge poster but I read the forums a lot and have done for years. What I'd like to know is why it's necessary to issue any bans at all, outside of obvious things like 'racism'. I can't for the life of me see why anyone posting calling someone a 'pudding' or either being for or against a promoter of any kind requires regulation? Don't misunderstand, it may be an annoyance, but that's the price paid for free speech, no?

Essentially, banning and moderation should be in accordance with the ToS of whatever platform hosts this website, nothing more.

It is a pity to stop by and see "banned" underneath the names of people I've seen post for several years, in some cases about 10 to 15 yrs (unbelievably to me).

This is a boxing forum and people of all walks of life stop by. Some are professional sorts, others can barely type. It's all good. Opinions, per se, are allowed without being in fear of defamation from a hosting point of view. I'd say what is needed is not deciding whether, as a mod, you 'support' the bans, but more consideration of whether such bans are required in relation to the ToS of the hosts.

Same here. But what happens when you start banning (where none is really required) is you suck the lifeblood out of any forum. I don't think that's happening here. Over the years there's been many incarnations of combinations of really active posters. I think most people actually enjoy the drama-queen side of this forum as much as want highly moderated threads and posts.

Hell I feel like i know many of the regular posters on here, even though I've never been namechecked once in any RBR thread :)

Surely though, those that don't give a **** about things people post (within all decency of course) will continue as normal and will ignore this thread.

Bans for illegal streams and all that are fair enough, but to actively go out of your way to report someone for a comment, or overly posting things like "game changed" or Matchroom bollocks is just stupid, we can be better than that, just mute them and continue.

We had Adyamn (sorry forgot his correct name) for an age spamming Dillian Whyte for ****s sake, and as much he was annoying, people actually also enjoyed it (especially when he got sparked out by Povetkin)

No, I don't think anyone would ignore it, it's a bit of drama and it's had a LOT of hits. But if people feel as you do, they might not post in it, hence my asking them to do so.

Personally, I think something will be happening regardless unless a lot of people think nothing should happen. This is because of what is occurring in terms of reporting and bans.

What would the poll say though? This is a nuanced issue. Anyway, nothing is decided yet, let's see what people say the rest of the day.

Dunno, maybe a vote on a more militant style of modding or let it ride as it is ?

Save people commenting or thinking on what to say about this issue/non issue
