Because in my eyes Foreman is better then Liston, he is the heavier puncher and has a ton more guts, I see Liston getting frustrated as he could not catch up to JW and going in the tank, but Foreman would get to him before he runs out of gas and score the KO.

 

Whatever floats your boat I guess. I think it's a highly questionable notion that Foreman was better than Liston. There is no evidence Foreman is a heavier puncher, and there is no evidence he has more guts. Liston is the more technically sound fighter, and is more skilled in my opinion from watching both on film. If anyone gets frustrated, it will be foreman swinging and missing at the air and tiring himself out. Liston actually had good stamina and proved he could fight 12 hard paced rounds vs Eddie Machen. He also knew how to conserve his energy and skillfully box. Foreman only knew how to fight like a wild gorilla swinging missing huffing and puffing swinging missing. Sure if he landed you were toast, but he telegraphed many of those punches, Ali and Young saw it from a mile away. Slick Boxers Folley and Machen could not capitalize on liston, because sonny was a well rounded fighter.

 

True but Joe had the power edge in both hands...Gene was way ahead of his times and had the fastest feet and hands until Patterson and Ali but JJW had the slick moves, the shuffle and power

 

Even in the Frazier fight ,thinking about it I can see JJW pinpointing a few power shots on Frazier and putting him on his ass, I can see JJW winning that, It was the pressure that a swarmer like Frazier and lack of aggression by Walcott that give me the indication that Frazier would come on late vs an older Walcott...But the Walcott that lost to Louis and Marciano may be able to rock JF out of there or be content with a could of pinpoint knock-downs and take the nod....Walcott is definitely the ATG spoiler in this division and one of the best on a lb4lb list, top 25 list of spoilers

 

Bump because I think it's an interesting topic, Walcott is a tough fight for everyone in heavyweight history IMO.

Give him the same kind of financial support, as even lower top five in the early 40s, and he makes an impact much sooner.

Of that bunch, there'd be some close fights, but I have him losing to all of them except maybe Tunney.
