Eubank tried to use Roy’s style of defence but did not have the skill to pull it off. Embarrassing loss especially since he won the previous round so well.

Never thought I would see Eubank Jr properly flattened. But if you fight on long enough, most chins get cracked.

I was saying it in the rnd by rnd thread that CEJ needs to stop trying to imitate RJJ and just let his hand go. Instead he was trying to be cute, got caught on the rope and it was game over.

Fighters should never hire Jones as a trainer. He was physically gifted, but he's got lousy fundamentals. If he doesn't even know the fundamentals, how is going to train someone?

Fighters need to put their hands up. The head can't outrun the hand. They will get caught sooner or later if they only rely on head movement.

Nah Roy had the right technique for his athleticism. Theoretically if he was training a fighter with his reflexes and speed I think he would be the perfect coach.
Fighters absolutely don’t need to have their hands up, you can see this with championship level fighters throughout history. You need your hands up at the right time and have the IQ to adjust as necessary. The idea that there is a ‘correct’ way to fight is why there are so many useless boxing trainers. The best defense is a good offense, and a counter puncher wants the opponent to believe they are open and vulnerable.
