So I'll throw in easy top names...

Chavez , Olivares, Sanchez, Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Castillo, Zarate, Canto, Lopez.

Am I missing a name? It's been a while since I've been on the list sort of train.

I want to put Arce in so bad. Someone help.

I like how you left out Canelo. I would add Vicente Saldivar one the greatest south paws in boxing history!

Sorry I’d LOVE to get Lopez out of there. That’s why I left open names for discussion.

Canelo in over Lopez, Vicente over who, he’d have to take over a top 10…Zarate? Or does Castillo leave?

Not sure if I understand your thread..If your asking if Saldivar has any good victories then, Ismael Laguna, Sugar Ramos, Howard Winston and Jose Legra.

Napoles is Cuban. de La Hoya and Corrales are both American.

The Golden Boy is Mexican-American and is explicitly proud of being both. I forgot the name of the boxer Oscar punished for saying he wasn't Mexican enough.

Duran has a Mexican parent, as well. But, nobody classifies him as Mexican. He is Panamanian. Corrales and De La Hoya were born in America. Therefore they are properly classified as American. Mexican people absolutely differentiate Mexican-American fighters from those fighters born in Mexico. It is part of the reason the Mexican people never revered De LA Hoya the way they did Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.

    10. Lopez

I don't rank active boxers, unless they're right at the end of their career. Canelo will end up in there, I'd need to think about it more to determine where.

I think adding those of Mexican descent who were born elsewhere are reasonable additions. One can split between nationality and ethnicity how they like, but men like Manuel Ortiz, Oscar De La Hoya, etc., were clearly Mexicans ancestrally.

I also believe that lists are going to have to be updated to accommodate the fact that Juan Franciso Estrada is greater than Ricardo Lopez. One may think that Lopez is better and that's fine, but Estrada has the deeper resume.
