So in accordance with the vote we had last week:

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/more-moderation-for-the-british-forum-vote-in-the-poll.698075/

There will be some changes to the way that the forum will be moderated. At the top let me say that I'm not about making crazy changes or going crazy with banning folks. If anything, I want to reduce the number of bans but whenever you make a change you get people who are absolutely determined that this change is wrong and absolutely want to sacrifice themselves to the cause. If that's you, just chill for a little bit. Relax. If this doesn't work, i'll pull it after a couple of months and if it does work i'll pull it after a couple of months. Beleive it or not i have better things to do

1 - No more AJ spamming. This goes for both people who are pro- and anti-. If you arrive in a matchroom thread and post off topic - so for example ranting about how great AJ is in a thread about Gennady Golovkin will have those posts deleted and a warning issued. If they persist, they'll be temporarily removed (say 48 hours) for a cool-off and underline. If they persist they'll be given a signficant temporary ban. If they persist, they'll be removed from the forum.

2 - No more Matchroom/DAZN spamming generally. The level of complaining about this is off the charts. Try not to turn discussions to Matchroom generally on a vs thread for example. No more "pudding" chat  Avoid the Game Changing puns, whatever is happening there....EDIT: You can talk about Matchroom, but do it in an appropriate thread, and don't start a new thread about them every three days personally.

3 - Alts. Stop complaining about alts. As I explained in the linked thread above, when you report an alt of a banned user, if the software doesn't produce an alt then it's rare that your claim will result in a ban. From here on in, if a banned guy has an established alt, he is entitled to the alt so far as I am concerned. Going forwards i'll try to catch more alts but you have to understand on this forum that if you "know" someone is an alt, you don't really.

4 - Trolling generally. The threshold for trolling just dropped here. Although the forum's decision by vote was pretty wide, there's disagreement here about what is "just banter" and what is unhepful derailing of boxing discussion. That is because people think the forum are different things - there are people here who are really serious about British boxing, scholars for it, and people who just log on to have a laugh. I understand. But the forum's use has been tilted towards serious boxing chat now. I will try hard not to issue any permanent bans during this transitional phase but remember that this is, in the end, is on you. The changes are clear and you understand them. If you want to do otherwise, you know what can happen and have nothing to complain about. I can't give hardline responses or guidelines on what you might be banned for so take responsibility for your own posting. Ere on the side of caution if you are really confused about what this mean.

I'll listen to any thoughts you guys want to share about these changes and any other things you'd like to see more heavily monitored. So post away. However please don't post about signal theft or complain about forum moderation. I've said all that will be said about that in the linked thread.

And bear with me. Things won't happen immediately when I'm asleep, working, busy with other stuff. Be patient and if you want to, get in touch, be helpful. Understand though that what you want, you specifically want, won't always come to be. There are many different points of view.

It's going to be very hard to bite my tongue and not criticize Matchroom when Hearn comes out with his weekly IFLTV quotes, but I will try and avoid mentioning them from now on :(

To be clear, you can mention them. But mention them in dedicated threads, where that discussion is appropriate. If I feel people are making too many threads about Matchroom specifically, i'll just merge them.

What about the matchroom fc bots who present as fury and wilder deniers? We all know who I’m talking about, relentlessly trying to position fighters like Molina ahead of fighters like Ortiz because aj fought one and wilder fought the other. These proposed changes don’t take these unique breed of poster into account, it’s still the same nonsense, just one level removed and dressed up as “rezooomaaaay” talk.

You get that everywhere. It's rampant in Classic. It's not a subject for moderation.

Maybe just try to limit your puddings. Have a very occasional pudding.

If there's no pudding chat then people will dessert the forum ;)

Seriously though, good changes and I think they'll improve the place no end. Thanks for putting all the time in. Last night's Smith-Eubank RBR was one of the best for a while so long may it go on.

Very positive changes, the whole turning every thread into AJ / off-topic slander was just boring and tiresome. Should be for the better.

I won't report you for this dessert comment as it's only a trifling matter.
Tbf I expect a ban myself for this level of grandad joke just now...

I do think the forum has got better quickly, lot more respectful of each other and more fun. There are really well informed opinions on here (not me obviously) that I enjoy listening to and learning from, there is less "I hate you" etc now so it's better to read and learn.
