The fighter you named don't stand up to scrutiny. Corrales was the only opponent whom objective and knowledgeable boxing fans picked to beat Floyd. Corrales was a legit badass the night he lost to Floyd. Even Miguel Diaz, cutman for both at the time, chose to work Corrales's corner for their fight. PETTY Boy Floyd repaid the slight by never working with Diaz again. Based on percentages, I assume DIaz's decision to work with Corrales instead of Floyd cost him lots of money through the years. I'm convinced that race had a lot to do with anyone who sided with McGregor and Hatton. Fans siding with Gatti likely believed he had a puncher's chance. Finally, Marquez was too small.

None of the aforementioned fighers came close to the lethal package of the 1981 Motor City Cobra aka Hitman who faced Prime Leonard. Hearns outboxes Floyd, like he did Leonard for the first half of the fight. Meanwhile, I doubt Floyd goes for broke and wades headlong into the fire, like Leonard did in the second half of the Hearns fight.

Until time travel becomes a reality, and the fights can actually happen, I will pick Hearns over Floyd, 10 out of 10 times.

 

What you're attempting to do is rewrite history. The problem is that this occured during the internet era and is searchable on this forum or Google. I bumped a Marquez--Mayweather prediction thread before because of how funny it was.

Another funny thing you've done, in addition to attempting to rewrite the internet, is that you've completely disregarded Floyd's ability to adapt and take over a fight in the second half. He did this to Oscar De La Hoya, Zab Judah, Pacquiao, Mosely, and others. Leonard relied more on overwhelming fighters or throwing a lot of punches. Mayweather never was Leonard and never needed to be Leonard.

 

Nobody ever outboxed Hearns in the pros and that includes Wilfred Benitez and Ray Leonard. Marquez was like FORTY YEARS OLD fighting at WELTERWEIGHT my god Hearns would have taken his head off in under 5 rounds.
Mayweather has ZERO power to bother Tommy and Tommy has that jab that Mayweather has never encountered.
This is a horrible match up for Mayweather.
I love Gatti but Hearns would have busted him up in four rounds at welterweight and Hatton might reach 3 rounds with a Hearns- I would hate to see what Hearns jab would do to Hatton.

 

Of course .. people are unrealistic because Floyd is a great story in a watered down dying sport ... they spend so much time trying to match him at 147 ? does he just roll through Arguello , JCC at 130? And also now he is the best LW ever in the history of the sport ... rolling thru Duran, Benny Leonard, Canzoneri, Gans, JCC, Whitaker, McFarland, Arguello, etc.... Ok so now he just beat all them with ease .. and then what? he KOs Pryor at 140 and Napoles? .. so lets put 12 more pounds on him from LW .. now hes in with Tommy, SRL, SRR , people are matching him with Hagler as well, whos next M Spinks? Does he even get in the ring with Mickey Walker ?

God you have almost no knowledge of boxing. Hearns has a 78inch reach with a FAST and HARD left jab and guess what? HEARNS sets it up with the exact samething: footwork,jabs to the body,etc.
Mayweather is going to have to concentrate on Hearns RIGHTHAND which is thrown very fast and Hearns can also counter with it but somehow Mayweather is also going to take the jab away even though Mayweather is a COUNTER PUNCHER and Mayweather has basically no power to bother Hearns.
And a little known fact: Had Hearns not broken his righthand/wrist vs Benitez HE STOPS BENITEZ as he had already dropped him once.

 

You and I both well know that Hearns would have NEVER faced a prime Hearns at welterweight and thats just a fact.

Hearns is like the anti-Floyd.

His weaknesses are things like chin, and Floyd has little power to speak of to trouble him with. Floyd's best attribute is probably his speed and Hearns is a speedster himself. Gonna be hard potshotting when all you need is one Hearns missile to end it all. Hearns is also considerably bigger than Floyd. Mayweather is working uphill here, folks.

That stats in isolation, without context, aren't proof, yes.
As per a subsequent post I made, the comment you've quoted was tongue in cheek to demonstrate that very point.

 

Not too sure about the longevity thing…Roy’s 15 year unbeaten run (minus the DQ when he was up on judges cards) is pretty good going.
It’s just that Mayweather took the longevity card to the extreme. When he beat Pacquiao it was his 20th(?) year as an unbeaten pro. Some run, eh.
