Can't believe you asked to be permanently banned mate. You're a great poster, this forum will miss you.
Are you just basically deleting any comments that disagree with you and/or point out how contradictory some of your comments are?
It's absolutely clear what posts I am deleting. I've posted it about ten times. Look: you're furious about all this. I understand change can be weird for some folks, and if that forum-suicide was your friend, that's a shame. But it was a suicide. I'd log off for a bit, or go and do something else. There's no point getting combatitive on the internet with a moderator who has deleted one of your posts.
It's clearly not me that is furious. I am not being in any way combative. I am also not feeding your ego any further so this will be my last post.
Well you did say in the deleted post that you agreed that I was a bellend and had issues. That's a little combative.
I appreciate that I am contradicting myself by replying, and I can't see the post anymore as deleted, but I honestly don't think that I agreed you were a bellend?
Ah, maybe not - you wrote that "I totally agree with what Twentyman called you". Maybe he called me something else that I missed.
I like the British forum, I enjoy some of the regular posters, I've been reading this forum for years, although only joined as a poster about a year ago. I enjoy a healthy discussion, with like-minded boxing fans, but I understand that some of the threads created in the last few months have been a bit infantile and annoying. I don't always agree with people, but the thought of reporting them doesn't even cross my mind, they're entitled to their opinions, I have to say I've been astonished at the amount of bans I've seen recently. As someone that likes to float in and out, I think it's a shame it's come to this, but maybe necessary.
This is the problem the same trolls who got themselves banned and begged for permanent bans will be back with new accounts and trolling. @McGrain you have a thankless task but its just a case of keep banning trolls not engaging and they will get bored and go away.
If a user is asking to be perma-banned its clearly attention seeking behaviour, i honestly wouldnt engage them if they dont want to be on the forum they can just log off and never come back.
Tbh, it's pretty common. Or regular at least - i'd say twice a year someone asks me to permanban them. It's usually people who are addicted but there are other, weirder reasons. I always ask them to wait 24hrs but some folks be in a hurry.
We differ then. But I think all the mods provide this service. Sometimes people just don't want to be here any more, and if we can help them with that, we do. If someone feels like it is a mistake later and wants to come back it's noted on their ban that they asked for the ban they recieved, so they can do that. I understand that you think you probably wouldn't, but being honest you probably would. And if you really didn't all that would happen is they would ask another mod, who would.
