Ignore that guy dude, he's being a contrarian because conventional wisdom and logic blows holes through his argument.

    Agenda driven?

You are hyping a guy’s stats, which were based on beating non great fighters.

So what if Lara and Trout were at their peaks?

The point is: He couldn’t clearly beat them, and neither of them are/weregreat fighters.

    Canelo wasn’t prime.

However, if he was, then it just hurts your argument even further.

If Canelo was prime, then you are saying that a PRIME Canelo couldn’t win a round off of Floyd, and that a PRIME Canelo could barely beat 2 non great fighters either side of fighting Floyd.

All of which means that he can’t possibly rank as high as what you think that he does.

He didn’t train properly so that’s obviously a fluke, not that it isn’t a great victory for Buster.

To clarify, I’m not talking about undefeated unified champions who were smoking crack, not training, entering fights with torn ACLs, etc. I mean guys who showed up prepared like Canelo always has.

This. Let's stop lowering the bar of expectation here. p4p ATGs in their prime blow the doors off world class fighters on the regular. Have a look at what Leonard, RJJ, Pacquiao, Ward, etc. did in their primes against world class opposition. It's typically only when they get older or face other HOF and great fighters where they lose or have a contested decision.

You mean you asked a question and then changed the goalposts when someone gave an answer that met the criteria you asked for? That's not like you.

    Answer my bias checking requirement.

So far the only answer is a mentally ill guy who was banging hookers instead of training.

You’re all up in your feelings now. Take it to General or the Pacquiao Fan Club on Facebook.

If you had a solid answer you would’ve given it, but you don’t.

Beats Tito, Vargas, Winky and Forrest. He's 50:50 against Mosley and Oscar.

Gets outboxed by Jones. With Toney it could go either way.
I have him favorite against all the rest.

    Still gets beat by Jones.
Might get outpointed by Ward and Calzaghe.
I have him favorite against the rest. He'd have 2 great fights with Benn and Froch.

Exactly. Canelo being BOTH prime* vs FM and a top 40 ATG** is easily discredited.

*LMW Trout did substantially better vs Canelo in his fight immediately previous to FM, at a full 154lbs, than huge SMW Smith and faded LHW Kovalev did. How would Trout have done vs those 2?

**ODLH is a lower half top 100 pfp ATG. He was bigger than FM, but not as big as Canelo. He was past prime vs FM. He did considerably better vs FM than Canelo. So which is it? Was Canelo way off prime, weight drained or nowhere near top 40 pfp all time?

Questions not directed at you btw, you already know the answers.

    Styles make fights, chief.

I’ve also seen Oscar ranked near 40 in either The Ring of KO, can’t remember which.

Who did you think was the most competitive vs Canelo out of Trout, C. Smith and Kovalev?

Would you pick the Trout that Canelo beat vs the versions of C.Smith and Kovalev that he beat?
