Yarde thinks he's a badman road killer. Beterbiev will knock Yarde out within 9 rounds. Remember Yarde never used to spa? LIONS IN THE CAMP.
What if Yarde is all wrong for Beterbiev? What if Beterbiev fails to land on Yarde, gets frustrated and loses discipline?
There is sometimes value in betting on the underdog and I can see a little bit in tipping Yarde. Not much, but a little. He’s the younger guy with some skills and let’s not forget the Kovalev fight…Yarde‘s display was fairly impressive at times, and from memory it looked at one stage in Round 8 I think, that Yarde could’ve stopped the great man. But it wasn’t to be and Kovalev’s class and experience finally told. So Yarde is no mug despite what many say. If it wasn’t for Beterbiev’s equaliser…that HW power in his LHW body, I could see a way for Yarde to win this on points. And I’d be tempted to put 500 on a points victory for the Brit. But it’s that power of Beterbiev that is stopping me from betting on Yarde. I just cannot see how he’ll survive 12 rounds without being sparked.
How many threads am I going to have to make before people realise Yarde Is going to destroy humiliate and embarrass Beterbean infront of everyone.
Surely the 'science of fighting' also includes footwork. How can Yarde enforce the centre of the ring when he's slow resetting his stance after an exchange? That's when Beterbiev will pounce; as Yarde is getting his feet into position. I watched a great breakdown of this which shows how Yarde resets front foot first and that puts his weight forward which brings him into range and makes it hard for him to lean back to avoid or mitigate the impact of punches. He doesn't seem to roll under punches much either, so he's gonna eat a lot of leather. Not a good game plan vs someone who hits hard with every punch thrown. You dictate the range and where the fight takes place with footwork and Yarde's footwork is not good enough. But, of course, you already know this being a student of the science of fighting...
Yarde hits really hard and if the odds are good enough it might be worth dropping a few bottlecaps on him. Not too many, because he's on a puncher's chance and frankly Joe Smith also had a puncher's chance and better skills and Beterbiev sent him to hell on a sled.
As a Brit who's seen most of Yarde's recent fights on BT I personally think 8/1 odds on him getting the KO are decent then again I'm a bit of a betting man and so mind throwing a fiver or tenner around even if the odds are stacked up. By KO inside 3-4 rounds is the only shot Yarde has, I do believe Yarde is the biggest puncher at 175 outside of Beterbiev...on the flip side he's nowhere near as skilled as a Joe Smith, Marcus Browne or even Kalajdzic.....he's also very static on his feet which is what I feel could be his undoing. So although I do think Beterbiev will KO him mid to late rounds I will be putting a tenner on Yarde by KO just because I like the odds.
Yarde can win. He has the power, explosiveness, size and youth on his side. Beterbiev is a monster, but if you actually look at his fights...most of his opponents fought a dumb ass game plan. Why did they do that? Because they were afraid. The problem for Yarde is: He has fought a bunch of C and D level fighters and went straight to A level guys from there. He basically has no B level fighter on his resume, maybe Arthur but even there he went 1-1 in two fights. Yarde lacks experience against a good level. He either fought total scrubs and bums or very, very good fighters and failed to win those fights most of the time. I think the fight will be closer than people think early on but as longer as it goes AB's pressure, power and volume will get Yarde and he'll break at some point. I wouldn't be shocked if a quick 1,2 counter by Yarde puts AB on his ass but the thing is...AB will get up, Yarde will be shocked and AB gonna beat the living crap out of Yarde until the fight gets stopped. AB by KO in R6-9. The odds looking fair to me. No value imo. I'd put a small stab on Yarde if he's +900 or +1000 but at +500 or +550 i have to pass.
Yarde hasn't mentally lost yet but when gets cracked up the side of the head or the body he will probably go into survival mode. I don't bet on them kind of fighters. I bet on fighters who get cracked up the side of the head and get upset by it...not hurt by it.
