Bivol fans: what path would you rather see him walk next? Secure the bag with another career payday in a Canelo rematch or Go for the glory of cementing his legacy at LHW against the Beterbiev-Yarde winner? I personally think he cruises to victory in any of the possible three iterations there, handily, so the risk is low no matter what - guess it's just a matter then of which reward serves him better long-term. Whomsoever he chooses, the window to face the other may just shut on him (as Beterbiev is pushing 40 and could retire if they don't square off by 2024, and Canelo may just decide to abandon 175 altogether for the safer pastures of SMW)
Why would any fan care about the size of Bivol's purse? It's either going to be large or very large. Doesn't matter. Not even trying to be a snarky douche. I just don't care one bit.
Alright then, for the prestige alone - rehash with Canelo and school the former p4p #1 again, or finally lock horns with Beterbiev after what for some fans has been a near decade long weight, and establish a clear "the man" at light heavy?
Beterbiev is the man at LHW, Canelo never was and never had a chance to be. As a fan, that's the fight I want to see. But I also had a 3 hour long continuous orgasm watching Bivol pick apart the devil himself. Since he's already beaten Canelo handedly I see no reason for a rematch.
Go down to 168 and take Canelos belts just because he can, then fight Beterbiev for all of them at 175. /myfantasy
Bivol looks more sophisticated than Beterbiev. On the other hand, Beterbiev is more savage. I think these 2 shouldn't fight each other. Like Klitschko brothers. They are valuable assets, I wouldn't want them to damage each other and ruin each other's zeros.
@tinman why do you say so? Now we have 2 exciting unbeaten fighters, both of whom keep the audience alive. If one of them fades, who would benefit from that?
This is the same logic all prospects use to duck competition. We want to see the best fight the best, not see fanboys’ feelings be protected.
100% This! Bivol vs Beterbiev in 2023! That's the fight I am most wanting to see come to pass, even more than Usyk v Fury
Bivol and Hearn dont want it. Why would they? Beterbiev is too much risk not enough reward. It's easier to fight a worse fighter in Canelo and make more money. Wait for Beterbiev to turn 40.
