He nearly won and was ahead on two of the scorecards.

I missed the fight because I was training a kid I train.

Did Yarde do much better than expected?

If Yarde had actually won the fight we would have never heard the end of it from the whole Yarde orbit.

Meanwhile Beterbiev barely even knows who Yarde is.

I couldn't care less if you respect me or not. No one is gaslighting anyone or doing mental gymnastics. What the hell are you talking about? He may fight Smith next. If he doesn't, great... he fights Bivol.

He did not "nearly win" he was systematically beaten down and had his face broken, and was up on Frank Warren scorecards, which also had Dubois up on Joe Joyce. Anyone who puts any stock in those is a fool.

He did alot better than most thought he would do and alot better than some of his haters will give him credit for. His cardio or should I say his ability to manage nervous energy is questionable but he put up a valiant effort regardless

Anyone who thinks that Bivol vs Beterbiev is easy for either fighter is not paying enough attention to either fighters strengths IMO.

It's the old immovable object (Bivol's distance, footwork and defence) vs the unstoppable force (Beterbievs concussive power and strength) argument in a way, and I find it very hard to separate and give either a clear edge, because I've not seen any evidence to write the other off.

IF it happens, I would bet that each will push the other harder than they have ever been pushed - and that will be all to the good for us fans. I just hope it happens this year!

I didn't comment earlier because I was watching the fight with my friends but that was one of the best wars I've seen in years. Credit to Yarde, he put up a great performance and of course credit to Beterbiev for gritting out yet another tough victory against a dangerous opponent.

I've noticed a pattern in Beterbiev fights that EVERYBODY ends up retiring from the fight (and in boxing really) with all their faculties in tact. They all reach a point where they just say, nah, I'm just done here, **** this, I'm quitting. It's not like hes separating their senses. He did that to Smith, but that's an outlier.

It was at least an as-good-as-vs-kovalev-yarde Yarde and he clearly likes to blow his wad for some rounds to try and get his man out of there. AB didn't look great for some rounds, and lost those ones, but he hardly got beat up. Moreso he looked like Yarde was stepping it up and AB was being beaten to the punch and couldn't find his rhythm. It didn't feel like Yarde snatched defeat from the hands of victory, either. He was pretty exhausted and you sensed he'd blown his load. Beterbiev has a relentless style and is pretty well conditioned. Bivol will need to box smart and really negate that by beating him to the punch using his great footwork, but if he lets AB swarm him he's in for a hard night. Bivol could easily have a bad night and be drowned. Prime Kovalev head to head imo is a good fight, and Kovalev has the jab to trouble AB, but it's not like he'll just tee off on AB all night and have it his own way. AB is a decorated fighter and his credentials speak for themselves. He'd make a fight of it and I think it would be a fight for the ages, but it feels more of a bad match up for Kovalev than the other way round. Kovalev is hardly going to stick and move all night keeping AB at bay. And once he does catch up with Kovalev, well his accurate and thudding attack is going to cause problems for Kovalev. Kovalev wouldnt like his durability and toughness guys, although AB does get hit and go down. There's no reason why prime for prime AB couldn't stop Kovalev late. As for AB versus Callum Smith, Arthur Beterbiev wins handily vs a guy who arguably lost to John Ryder @168. It's a pointless fight and Bivol needs to happen.

    Where is the dislike button?

That fight was out on his shield.

You want out on a mortuary stretcher.

Yarde made a real good account of himself. He has nothing to be ashamed of. Beterbiev is just on another level, and while Yarde was able to survive 7 rounds, there is no way Yarde should have been up on the cards. Beterbiev controlled this fight, and I had him up 5-2 at the time of the stoppage. Great fight. Bring on Bivol for all the marbles.

I think you care, but it should go beyond that. Being genuine and admitting to something that is extremely obvious is far more honorable than lying about it. Doesn't matter. We both know the truth.
