Might well happen as I said in an earlier post here if at least one of the following doesn't come off this year (Fury/Usyk, Crawford/Spence, Beterbiev/Bivol)

Yeah for sure. I just see AB defeats Smith while taking a few more jabs, and a little worse defence than Canelo. I don't think AB suddenly runs into his cryptonite in the form of Callum Smith is all.

    I hope he does too

Povetkin declined from fight to fight

He was already well past his best when he fought AJ but the version who fought Hughie had declined from that fight. And the version who fought Hunter had declined from the one who fought Hughie. And the version who fought Whyte was shot to bits. And the version who showed up for the rematch was a walking cadaver. Or more like a hobbling one.

I no longer expect fights that I'd care about to happen in a period when I would still care about them.

Hey... I bet most didn't think Callum would put a guy in the hospital that went the distance with Bivol, in his LHW debut either. Not saying Smith for sure KO's Beterbiev. But Yarde had him shook up several times tonight. Callum can do the same, and possibly finish him.

Speaking of The Nail… When the hell is he coming back?! He’s way too good a fighter to just retire that early! I can see him picking a strap up again as Artur probably only has a few more fights in him.

Hell call me crazy but The Nail back with Atlas after a couple good fights against a 39 year old Artur…. Stranger things have happened then Alex clipping him out with that right hand he has.

Yeah, he was a walking corpse against Ryder, that didn't change against Canelo. He moved up immediately after. He should've been at LHW for the last decade.

While this subject is still going around, no version of prime Kovalev beats no version of Prime Beterbiev.
Beterbiev would play old school accordion music with Kov's body. Kov was the prime example of a bully that didn't like it when the pressure was turned up back at him.

But Joe is not skilled enough to land powershots anywhere near the frequency of AB. That's the difference.

He's still training I think, the last I saw he was doing an interview a few weeks back, I think outside of a gym. I wouldn't rule it out either. Had The Nail been more aggressive early, and sat down on his shots. I think he could've gotten Artur out of there. He tried the same approach he took with Stevenson, and it didn't pay off that time.

I always suspected some dodgy shenanigans. He was nothing like himself. I know he had a short camp but he was a second rate 168 pounder against Canelo.

Well yeah, he can punch. So could Joe Smith jnr I guess. I think Bivol is the man to beat AB. 60/40 Bivol kinda thing. Bivol is special.
