There was a bomb to the back of the head in rd 2, it looked like it would fell a moose.

Spot on. It's amazing he has made it this far. He has developed since Kovalev but his understanding is still remarkably low. It's hard not to admire his courage and will.

The only people complaining about rabbit punches are those who don't like Beterbiev and are grasping at straws. He won fair and square. Deal with it.

Rabbit punches were a non-factor here.

Enough of the baloney about rabbit punches. Beterbiev wore him down and beat the **** out of him.

A rabbit punch is a rabbit punch. Not that it matters, Beterbiev was breaking yarde down and it was only a matter of time. But Beterbiev does have a history of hitting behind the head. JS

I'm not saying they're intentional, but he does hit behind the head on occasion. Look at 10 seconds into the video, he hit Joe Smith behind the head. It happens, but lets not act like Beterbiev doesn't hit behind the head, whether it be intentional or not.

You hate Beterbiev and you're upset that he won......again

Let me try and give some context to avoid this becoming a slanging match.

Ever since the Johnson fight, people have been saying Beterbiev is chinny and all it takes it X, Y or Z shot to put him over and that he is very over rated.
Well, my counter argument is that Beterbiev has had SIX fights since, some fights against MONSTER punchers (Gvozdyk, Smith Jr and Yarde) and nobody has managed to put him down, or really hurt him.
Anyone hoping for that to happen is going to be disappointed. He has a solid chin and he'll hurt you more than you hurt him.

I hope I have contextualised my argument for you.

Does anyone else think the reaction to this fight is a bit over top ... it was a good fight but it wasn't a great, one I don't get it... even Steve bunce would be proud of the current slurping of Yarde

Says the Andre Ward fanboy lol if it's intentional then yes it's illegal but if a punch is being thrown and a fighter is turning away from that punch and happens to get hit on the back of the head then it's not a rabbit punch , yarde moves fairly well & is quick & was simply turning away, nothing dodgy about Beterbiev

Given the fight card on the night, and how I figured after Smith that AB would blow Yarde away, it was - relatively speaking - a great surprise, and didn't belong on the same evening of farcical fare!

It had ebb & flow, bombs, tons of heart & some genuine drama - although I suspected that Artur was mostly in control, he did look like he flagged / struggled just a bit in rounds 6 & 7 - but he closed the show well.

Maybe it was as much the pleasant surprise, but I thought it was a cracking contest!
