Hell no. I think Hagler stops him. I do not think Floyd would be effective at 160, he won a close one at 154 against DH to give you an indication.

Most of Leonard's punches were shoe shinning, that only counts in the amateurs.

Given that that version of Hagler was past his best and assuming Mayweather gets the same stupid judges that counted SRL's shoe shinning, than I see no reason Mayweather couldn't win.

Bingo. That was also my point. Given that 2 of those dumb judges counted SRL's light taps, anything is possible.

No he didn't. It's pro boxing, not amateur boxing. Tappy taps don't count, a punch is gotta do damage.

Just to further your boxing knowledge "judges" score fights nowadays not refs. Ironically they are the "stupid" and "dumb" ones tho.

I typed fast and wasn't paying attention.
Anyway, like I said, this is pro boxing, not amateur level, punches must do damage.
Hagler was the defending champ and in order to take that title away from him, you must beat the champ, not tap him.

Punches don't have to do damage to win a fight. There's been countless great light hitting fighters.

There's also no scoring rule that the champ wins if he's outpointed in a close one. Fights are scored on a round by round basis and as far as i know there's no provision for the champ.

If there was a requirement for punches to do damage to count on the scorecards and for the champion to be beaten decisively, Mayweather's chances in the thread title reduce from low to zero.

Correct, but I have seen countless write ups where it goes something like " it was close, they should never have taken the title of the champ " so whilst agreeing the challenger won on points, for some reason the champ should have kept his title !
    stay safe amigo.

    They were very accurate combinations.

They didn’t phase Marvin at all, but they were all accurate, effective scoring shots.

    These posts are just desperate.

To the point, where people think you’re trolling.

    Maybe you are.

    What would Floyd have done?

    Thrown pot shots?

Whined to Kenny? (you know that Kenny would had to have been the ref)

Apart from the obvious fact that Floyd didn’t throw those kinds of shots.

    Of course they counted them.

It doesn’t matter how hurtful they were, or how hurtful they were perceived to be.

Yes, they probably were light taps, as Marvin had a granite chin.

    It doesn’t matter though.

    They had to be scored.

Any accurate shot thrown with great technique and timing is scored.

All of those types of shots impress the judges.

Maybe Marvin should have pressured Ray more instead of just smiling at him.
