B-side in the sense that Joshua was the cash cow with bias in his favour from the officials. The 7-5 Usyk scorecard in the first fight and 7-5 Joshua scorecard in the rematch were both examples of A-side advantage. Had Usyk been fighting Joshua in Ukraine, it stands to reason that he would have won by wider margins than he did in Britain or Saudi.

Confidence builder, real rounds with his new trainer, DAZN content, fighting/beating Franklin convincingly sets up the Whyte clash nicely... literally a million reasons

What's hilarious though is that during the height of AJmania 2017-2018, when he was fighting puddings, paper champs and old men with this sterile 2-fights-a-year-no-more-no-less schedule, with Hearn bigging up everyone from Takam to Parker as being this P4P top 10 fighter, AJ would've been blasted for fighting guys like Franklin. Fastforward to 2023, where a Franklin fight makes a lot of sense and is a logical stepping stone from 2 Usyk defeats to a Whyte rematch, AJ is getting shat on by these same fans. ''W-WHY AREN'T YOU FIGHTING FURY THEN WHYTE THEN WILDER THEN USYK 3?'' Because that's not how it works, lads. Hearn has conditioned the ReMatchroom FC Deano brigade that Lennox, Ali etc. only fought no.1 contenders one after the other and guys like Bugner and Botha never existed

... and now Fury/Warren are following the same playbook putting on garbage like Delboy 3 and Ngannou

Chisora and Whyte, everyone gets a turn. Some gets the ride multiple times.

Whyte is just another warm up fight for Joshua, all this is just Hearn wanting to milk their history.

Joshua thought he won the Usyk rematch. That's why he stormed around the ring throwing a tantrum. He actually believed he won, however misguided that was.

So I don't know why he needs a "confidence builder." Joshua didn't think he lost. Seems like he's still pretty full of himself.

This is just a way for Eddie Hearn to make money off British boxing fans who can see the end of the "British Heavyweight" era right around the corner. So this gives them a chance to sing Neil Diamond songs and pretend it's still 2017.

Whyte's gone. Joshua's nearly gone. Joyce, who has yet to have a real title fight, is pushing 40.

If Fury loses to Usyk (which I don't think he will), the end of that era will come sooner rather than later.

And there aren't any British fighters like 23-year-old Jared Anderson racing up the ratings.

Why is everyone so interested in a Whyte rematch? The last thing the heavyweight division needs is more rewinds. Whyte has been dropped and ktfo twice since they’ve fought. Franklin isn’t the best fight but at least it’s something new.

Exactly. Whyte landed one good punch on Joshua then he got broken down and slept.

Because DAZN is broke. Tune up fight and then fight Whyte in a stadium. 2 pay per views. Legalised bank robbery

The brand is in trouble and now they're playing safe as they can get away with. One more loss in the near future might make it unsustainable considering the fees Joshua has become accustomed to. An upset loss could ruin the brand. It's exciting times at Matchroom!
It all proves Joshua ducked Fury in December.

That would be a good point if the world was black and white. Its no secret that AJ is mentally shot and lacking confidence, we also know that he has yet another new coach and this will be his first camp with him. To be fair Franklin arguably beat Whyte but with the Whyte comes a whole lot of pressure, it's huge domestically and he is his biggest personal rival, his arch nemesis so to speak. I reckon it's not that he doesn't believe he could beat him I just don't think the pressure when his confidence is non-existent is a good move. Who knows.
