Am I the only one who just can't watch George in his prime?

He wasn't prime for the Holmes bout either. Although well conditioned, he definitely lost some speed by that point when compared to his second bout against Ali for example (his best performance imo).

Oh he beat Texas Cobb? One of the least skilled fighters to challenge for the championship (by his own admission)? I'm not impressed. Also it was a somewhat contreversial decision with Norton himself going up to Cobb saying "you kicked my ass tonight". In your honest opinion (which I'm not sure is even possible) do you think a '74 Norton would leave any doubt in a decision?

I already outlined how similar they were, and it’s striking. One had hype and one didn’t. They each had an erratic performance. It’s one of many similarities.

Foreman had two successful defenses and McCall only had one, so I guess Foreman had him covered there.

He was in the top ten when he fought Cooney, not shot. Take it somewhere else, kid.

That rating (like yourself) was a joke. Prior to his SD over the unskilled Cobb, he hadn't fought in over a year, and hadn't won in two... which was a win over the obscure Randy Stephens. Not exactly the stuff of legends.

And who did Cobb beat in order to land the Norton fight?

The Shavers who was 1-2 in his last three and subsequently lost his ranking? The Shavers who'd been to John Hopkins Medical School before his bout over retina trouble?

I mean you are trolling, right? Even for you this is just too dumb.

It's the usual MO, you make up your own cutoff lines and divisions and then just state what you personally think as facts. I listed Foreman's wins over guys in the top 10 and top 5 at the time of the fight, and Foreman's **** on the guys you considered equal, and he also has fewer losses.

Just for laughs, can't you start a poll on who's the greatest of Foreman and McCall and also have as options if the one asking the question is a troll or merely drunk?

With that said, I've fed the troll enough now I think.

I know what you mean. Awkward and sluggish sometimes, but the power was devastating.

Nobody questions a guy who can lift a dude up from the floor with Uppercuts. His power was not the problem, he is just ugly to watch.

Sonny was just plain better to watch, was a better boxer than George , and knocked people out with far more sophistication than George

Of course, the already 30 1/2 yo Norton that fought Foreman was a much better and more resilient fighter than the 35 1/2 yo and the 3 months shy of 38 y0 versions that fought Shavers and Cooney respectively.

Foreman's victory over Ken was easily the most impressive of the 3.

Personally i'm a boxing fan and love watching one of the strongest hardest hitting ATG's in history who totally blew out a fellow unbeaten ATG and a near great. Two incredible performances and i'd never be able to understand someone that can't watch achievements of that magnitude.
