Sssshhh, Lep.. You'd never hear the end of it from these RoJos if Beterbiev popped dirty for PEDs like Roid did

Of course he's still smack bang in the midst of his prime at 38 y/o with a ton of wear and tear from his extremely extensive amateur career and fighting with a very aggressive style but Roy was shot to bits at 35 :risas3::facepalm:

If someone is at his prime at 38 years old, it rather means the division is at its worse. Yarde started boxing when he turned 20 and began a professional career after just 12 amateurs bouts. He is an official challenger at LHW. Small ginger is a former welterweight : he won a championship fight at LHW and was a competent aggressor against the current number 1 LHW Bivol. Look at it the way you want, Beterbiev is not proving anything in that division and doesn't deserve after just 19 pro fights to measure against a legend like RJJ.

Beterbiev at the least needs to jump to heavyweight or cruiserweight and fight guys like Usyk if he wants to measure against other greats. He has to leave the magic land of the unicorns and fight.

Yeah but Yarde also had him hurt at one point, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think Roy could stun him and over time do even more damage. That being said, I do think Roy would have some issues with AB’s pressure and could definitely see him being hurt as well.

Beterbiev has more power and is bigger and more solid than anyone Roy stopped.

    Best for best....

Kov would lose, possibly by stoppage.

Ward would lose , probably by stoppage.

Bernard and Tarver might hear the final bell, in a losing effort.

    Roy ?

Different proposition. He's way too fast and too athletic.

Beterbiev clearly has a puncher's chance, and might catch Roy, but IMO, Roy wins this by wide points margin.

Beterbiev has seen nothing even remotely close to RJJ in terms of speed ring IQ or overall talent

Roy had a Glass Jaw and no Plan B in a fight when the going got tough. He’s not going to be able to bully Beterbiev. Beterbiev would be the bully here. Jones gets savagely KOed in the early to mid rounds. Roy doesn’t have The Chin or Heart for a fight like this.

Of course if a guy like Bivol, who is basically an unidimensional fighter who only possesses speed and only throws straight punches can beat Beterbiev, you must be logical and give prime RJJ the win here.

People get carried away by any undefeated fighter who happens to win belts, until the guy meets his man. Bivol is not even a man but will beat Beterbiev. Can you imagine.

What's wrong with this forum. Prime RJJ would take Beterbiev apart, it takes a blind man not to see that. I am big fan of AB, but prime RJJ was the kind of a fighter which emerges once in every 30-40 years.

Of course the moment he started slowing down Beterbiev takes him out in two rounds a la Tarver. But pre-2002 Jones beats Beterbiev up very badly.

If both fighters would need to go through proper ped testing RJJ would be a shadow of his prime self and would be finished in 7.
Roid Jones on juice in his prime gets shattered in 10.
