Paulie Malignaggi v Chris Algieri

I just saw these two breaking down the upcoming Plant Benavidez fight together. It got me thinking both were at their best at 140 neither had much power and it wouldn't have been a particularly exciting fight but a pretty good match up. I think it is safe to say it would go the distance. Who do you think would win? Both in their primes of coarse.

 

This Algieri guy was just awful, robotic like hell and stiff. The fact that this guy captured a wbo world championship just shows how **** the sport really is.

Yeah I would pick Paulie to win a 116-112 type decision

 

Paulie was up for a beating too I still wince at the pounding he took from Cotto and he never thought of quitting for one second.

I don't know if Algieri had that in him. I guess we'll never know because just as he was about to get let out of his cage by his coach against Pac...lol.

I'd say Paulie. He had lightning fast hands back in the day, with a fair bit of heart too.

Not about the Paulie part, but do you not remember Chris’s face after the Ruslan fight? If he was a quitter, that would have been the time.

This would be a huge fight in italy. Think 40,000 fans at the Coliseum going nuts.

I'm leaning towards Paulie. No doubt that someone is going to sleep in this fight though.....the audience

 

Paulie was good enough to only lose to the top guys. Algieri was never a top guy
