    Every single poll on the internet had Kovalev winning. I don't recall seeing a single one that had Dre winning or even one that was even close to 50-50

    What kind of fighter, let alone one who professes to be a devout Christian, would refuse to allow a single neutral judge to work a fight, especially after they had home advantage and three home judges in the first fight and he was the challenger? Ward would never have dared fight Kovalev a level playing field, let alone one which was even slightly tilted in Kovalev's favour

    Kovalev was a truly great fighter before he started slacking in training and drinking too much vodka. Love him or hate him, boxing fans respect his skill and power.

    I respected his skills and power as a great fighter same as I abhorred his racism. Drinking and slacking in training that’s on him and his fault. SOG took his soul.

    Prime for prime ya Im pretty confident AB wears him down.

    AB is too aggressive, too powerful and too good, imo.

    Its just a bad matchup for Kovalev.

    And for the record I rate Kovalev quite highly. But he likes time and space too much, and he doesnt have the dog in him necessary to beat AB, imo.

    You may be forgetting how great Kovalev’s jab and 1-2 are. I think he catches AB often put him down and maybe stops him. I like. AB but I don’t think he has enough for Kovalev and he is no SOG. Peak Kovalev takes people out.

    I understand that Kovalev was past prime against Ward, but people act like that fight simply doesnt count because Kovalev was shot or something. He wasnt shot. He was past prime sure. But he wasnt shot. He was in his early 30's, and was in against one of the best fighters of his career, and he was starting to wilt under Wards pressure in the rematch, regardless of the low blows.

    That fight has to be taken into the context of Kova being past prime, but its not irrelevant.

    If a 33 year old Kova was wilting under the pressure of Andre Ward, a 29 year old Kova wilts under AB's.

    imo.

    Well we rate AB and Ward differently. In turn that will effect how we rate Kova and also who wins the outcomes of the fights.

    I think AB beats Ward, you likely think Ward beats AB.

    You rating Ward as highly as you do, props Kovalev up a bit in estimation, since Kova was highly competitive with Ward.

    I rate Ward highly, but I think AB beats Ward, so Kovalev being highly competitive with Ward doesnt mean as much to me as it would someone who rates Ward higher than I do.

    Of course he was not past prime. The beating Ward gave the undefeated Kovalev took him past his prime.

    Ward beats AB without a shadow of doubt because he has to many tools for him. Ward is to skilful, to fast, to strong and just to good. AB does not beat the great Matthew Saad Muhammad. Also Bivol beats AB.

    You may be right. I always thought that Kovalev's precision and power 1-2 would be too much for AB. But we saw against Gvozdyk how brutal and physical boxing can be at 175 and up. Make no mistake, LHW, CW and HW boxing can get downright nasty. Prime AB very well might stop every single LHW of the past 15 to 20 years due to sheer physicality. This isnt the lower weights where elite fighters dance around brutes. All it takes is for AB to get to you in one round and the accumulated damage lasts the entire fight. There is no recovering from a handful of AB bodyshots. You can't ride those out.
