Its pretty much agreed that he gets stopped by anybody at the top of the division although some people disagree, but what about the lower ranking guys who aren't discussed as much? I'm not familiar with the LHW division that much outside of the top guys but I'm sure there are people on here who are.
The current Canelo could probably be worthy of the lower third of the top ten. I think the Canelo of five years ago was good enough to be ranked in the middle third.
Canelo was already the champion of the LHW division; it cannot rule the LHW category as it can the SMW category.
Based on what? Yarde couldn't beat Kovalev. The same Kovalev that was stopped by Canelo less than 3 months later.
Love these Canelistas that ignore all context around the fights of their gingerito. Canelo went on a canned lion hunt This content is protected
How anyone could rank him on the lower end is remarkable. He's already fought the top 2 in the division, and ok he lost/was losing both on points he still found a way to win 1 of them and put up a fairly decent performance against Bivol even though I had him winning a few rounds more than what was officially announced......comfortably dealt with Smith at 168 and don't see that being any different at 175.
He literally just fought the #1 at the weight and never really came close to being stopped.....he also fought Kovalev who's a crazy puncher and not only never got stopped....stopped him. Beterbiev and Yarde COULD stop him, not a given that they do.
Hardly. Yarde ould put up a hell of a fight, possibly see the final bell, but loses via UD. Buatsi gets violently KTFO in 8 or less.
Low end. Same as RJJ at HW. Bivol himself is not that great in the absolute. He has speed and good cover, that's all.
I don't think Canelo is really inferior to anyone at LHW, he's just not made for that weight. He looked sluggish at 175. If any of the current LHW contenders went down to MW Canelo would have a great chance of beating them.
