Frank Warren has provided a big update regarding a potential undisputed heavyweight world title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. Whilst appearing on Talksport, Warren assured fans the fight would “100%” be taking place on April 29t Warren also confirmed that the only issue left to resolve was the location of the fight, with talks still ongoing with representatives from the Middle East" Who takes it then, chaps?
The fight was agreed 2 weeks ago It took Fury just under 2 weeks to get a $1,000,000,000 deal with the Saudi's The announcement would have happened this week but timings are tight and they will do something on the Fury Paulo fight card. It's a big Fury party and everyone is invited! excluding AJ & Wilder.
Yeah right. Alert me when the contracts are actually signed and the actual fight is announced. Everything else is just posturing at this point.
This fight is anything but close to happening, I will believe it only when I see the ring walk of both...
This. It’s clear Usyk wants this fight and Fury doesn’t. I can’t blame him though. He knows Usyk would end his professional boxing career and earning potential.
Fury is already a six figure millionaire and a UK boxing legend so earning potential is irrelevant now. Will be a great fight when it happens and I can see Fury stopping Usyk.
Fury is probably the greediest boxer in history. Imagine Lewis or Ali fighting an almost 40 year old, 12 losses opponent and calling it a title bout, charging 27 pounds for it on PPV. There’s stay busy fights and there’s blatant cash grabbing sparring sessions. So in other words, for Fury there’s no such thing as “enough money”. As for his knocking Usyk out: you are funny, I’ll give you that. Tyson “I need 11 rounds and 150 power punches to stop a staggering, stationery Wilder” Fury stopping Oleksandr “never even been knocked down as a professional, not even Joshua could hurt me with power punches” Usyk? Sure thing, mate.
The only scenario Fury would fight Usyk is if he no longer wants to be a professional boxer and wants to get a big pay day at the end of his fighting career. That’s the only thing he can get out of facing Usyk and he knows it. Fury is many things, but stupid is not one of those things. He ducked Usyk for risk management reasons. He knows he will never beat him. But if and when he faces him, that’s him saying: “I’m done with boxing, I want a final pay check, that’s the best I can hope for here”.
