Speaking of Torrez, what the heck happened to him. Usually prospects of his level fight every other month, been a while since I heard of him.
He wasn't rocked and took those shots easily against a quality opponent. But yeah torrez could beat him just as Anderson could beat him as well.
I remember Anderson getting caught clean several times but I don't think he was ever rocked. Anderson has also beat the better competition, though slightly, so I'm going with him.
Torrez has been fighting very soft opposition, so we can't accurately evaluate hm. Anderson looks okay, but he's been the beneficiary of several quick stoppages from Top Rank's dodgy referees. Tereshkin wasn't hurt at all, but Anderson threw a flurry and the crooked referee waved it off. Quick stoppages won't help him develop and improve.
Torrez is still the guy who got one-shot KOd by Jalolov. All we know about him in the pros is that he has good speed and power when he is coming forward unchallenged and under no pressure. That’s going to change once he steps up and there are lots of question marks.
Not saying I agree (or disagree) with the thread, but to be fair, Torrez was 19 at the time of that KO. He rematched him at 21 and it was a lot closer. 19 is a kid in most weight divisions, never mind heavyweight.
Forrest is hands down a better opponent than anyone Torrez has fought up to this point, so id say its more than "Slightly" better comp. I like Torrez and have been saying it for a while now, that he needs to start stepping up his competition. Hes wiping out the guys hes facing in no time, and with that always comes the questions, about how well he'll do once he steps up. Hes the goods though it appears but i think Jared has a little too much for him right now.
