There's so many fighters (in history) we can relate to. James Scott - Good fighter on trial for prison. The opposite of the film Undisputed. Dwight Qawi - Uses boxing as a way to turnaround his life. Nicolino Locche - The tough, gifted defensive Wizard we've ever seen. Defeating the odds one cigarette at at time. Mike McCallum - An underrated ATG fighter from the islands. He's widely respected within the boxing world, not the masses.
I have always thought Johnny Tapia and Kassim Ouma would make good (depressing) movie subjects. But there’s already documentaries on them. Once I see a documentary on them, I personally lose a little interest in seeing a Hollywood movie. Jack Johnson of course had the James Earl Jones movie, but after Unforgivable Blackness, I don’t really care about another Hollywood movie on him. Someone made a documentary on YouTube of him called “Troll champion”. It has millions of views.
It's so obvious but I'll say it anyway - Matthew Saad Muhammad. Ward had the Irish American angle Mancini had the Italian American angle. Saad had no angle
Lol, I think I’ve seen some of that - suffice to say, I probably didn’t see it the whole way through. Have you ever seen a guy that you would like to be flattened more than Charlie? I guess for me, he’s held a modicum of interest and hope - for the much desired potential of his being KTFO to be realised. Lol.
Anthony Mundine. He could play himself. Movie starts with his old man getting starched by Monzon with young Anthony in the crowd (don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story). Grows up in Newtown, which was pretty rough back then. Debuts in the NRL at 19, is victim of racial vilification on multiple occasions and quickly fast forward to him single handedly losing his team the Grand Final by dropping the ball over the try line. Quits half through the next season citing racism and pursues boxing. Has huge rivalry with Danny Green. Beats him in huge Aussie showdown and then a couple of years later gets knocked out by a nobody in a reality TV show. End film.
I’ve seen quite a bit of him, I think he’s fascinating from a psychological standpoint. I see crazy people everyday on the street, but he has a unique type of craziness and stupidity. He records himself with (very obvious) hookers to try to prove he can get women. TMZ reported a little while ago that Kim kardashian got a restraining order on him.
