Actually don't mind paying for them on an ad hoc basis when they have a good fight. However an annual subscription just doesn't make sense with the kind of content they've had lately. But I will definitely pay for the good fight here and there
It was good at first. Flat monthly fee, no PPV. Now it's like all the other pay stations. Pay your monthly fee and 4 month worth for a good fight.
They put on about the same amount of boxing (maybe less??) as ESPN which costs less and has a plethora of actual desirable sports and quality non-live sports programming (DAZN has darts and some AJ infomercials).
If it's rising to 20 Sovs a month here in the UK it's not worth it as a regular sub. Some months are totally naff with content.
I canceled DAZN last year. A little window always pops up when I go there asking me if I was to resubscribe but I just close it. I have until 2/27 and then my access ends.
They have been a big let down. It’s not the money but the principle of it. To many crappy cards to make up for the one good fight and they are hell bent making you watch woman boxing. There isn’t anything else they produce that I watch. Unlike ESPN I watch other sports. I have 8 months to see if anything improves.
Makes me laugh seeing some people try to justify Joshua vs Franklin as a good matchup by saying “it’s non-PPV”, well no because you have to pay £19.99 to watch it, as well as literally any other garbage card DAZN put out. I don’t usually get involved in network/promoter wars but DAZN is clearly the worst value for money out of any network for UK boxing fans now. £20 a month on the off-chance they MIGHT put together a half-decent card with no other sport available… DAZN has the worst stable of boxers, and even though Sky & BT milk us dry too they at least they have other sports on.
In Japan it is now 3,000JPY for one month (19GBP). Bit mad given Netflix Premium is 1980JPY a month, cancel anytime. They are trying to make a yearly subscription more appealing, but even on sale, the cheapest is still 2,210JPY per month. I'm pretty casual outside of watching the heavyweight division, so this is starting to look much less appealing to me, even if I get other cards in the month. I guess they have given up on expanding the customer base and are now only targeting the most dedicated of fans (across sports) - then price gouging them.
Yeah ESPN is a touch better, but they need to stop showing College corn hole competitions and more classic BOXING. LOL
I was a HUGE DAZN supporter when it first started. All PPV free? Canelo and AJ free? Inoue FREE?!? Sign me up! And I did ! The PBC girls are to blame as they preferred to pay $75 per PPV including all the trash shows their female heroes put on. Oh well, humans simply cant have nice things
@The Professor tried to warn y'all. The leisure class and their amoral form of ultra capitalism punishes the working man yet again.
