If you could delete a fight from a favorite boxers legacy, which fight would it be?

Sumbu Kalambay against Michael Nunn. That first round KO really derailed Kalambay's career. I would have loved to have seen him fight James Toney, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, or Julian Jackson.

I'd rather delete the loss to the Ukrainian Senchenko. Getting stopped by someone I feel he definitely would have beat at one point.

I just like the idea of a superhuman unbeatable machine pre prison.

Ali v Holmes was my immediate reaction to the question. Not that the result really made any difference to either man's overall reputation, but that the fight shouldn't have taken place. It told us nothing other than Ali no longer had any business being in the ring.

I would delete the 1991 July incident with Mike Tyson instead of a Fight.

Mike Tyson was never the same after Prison. Early 90's Tyson would have faired better against Holyfield and Lewis.

    -------
If I had to delete a fight. It would be Young vs Foreman. Maybe Foreman would have stayed and got a 2nd bout with Ali someway.

Would deleting the Bentt, or Mercer fight make Morrison look better? Probably Bentt, right. Losing to Mercer after beating on him for a while doesn't sound as bad.
I think Morrison would be thought of way higher just from removing the Bentt KO

Another one for hatton v pacman. He gave it a proper go against mayweather at least more so than a lot of mayweather opponents anyway. He should have and could have went out on a high. Instead he was brutally dispatched then went out on a low that his career probably didnt deserve.

    Hatton was a great fighter

but in hindsight these guys mayweather and pacman we,re exceptional fighters with an unbelievable dedication for the sport. Hatton was dedicated enough to get himself fit as a fiddle etc. Just not quite dedicated enough to be live it and breath it. He overachieved giving his dimensions and skill level. But he probably could have and should have achieved more looking back. He could have had a better cv....was held back by his promoter for too long when he was at his best.

They should have upped his competition much quicker coming through. Still wouldnt have beaten manny or mayweather but had a good shout at beating some good names. Also jury still out weather he struggled once he got to america because the skill level was higher or....his lifestyle was starting to catch up with him a bit. Ageing etc with his all action style.

Was red hot coming through...bit of ashame that america got to see more of a jab and grab style. Again up for debate weather it was due to the skill level going up or he was slowing down a bit.

Regardless tho....he couldnt get out the way of mannys shots. Would have loved him to weather the storm.....because he was getting himself slowly back into the fight in the round he got pole axed.

Clottey-Corrales was another bad one I'd delete if I could. Chico had no business at 147 and got dominated and beat up. It was hard to watch being a Corrales fan.

Yeah, that one is right up there with Hatton vs Pacquiao. The difference is Duran knew how to come back, he didn't go to booze and drugs, he went on to defeat Iran Barkley.
