The Fury v McDermott first fight scorecard would be hard to conclude incompetence as even Big John Fury knew his son lost by a mile.

One of a few fights where I've yelled at the television, along with Ryder Smith, and Catterall Taylor, of recent times

I think too much is made of the Tyson Fury fight. Let's not forget he already had lots of losses on his record before fighting Fury, including two losses to Danny Williams. I think his ceiling was always domestic level. Yes, it would have been a great name (in hindsight) having Fury on his record and would have opened up some lucrative fights for him, but I think alot is made of the robbery.

This was the biggest robbery I have ever seen in a boxing ring closely followed by his robbery against Danny Williams.

Big John beat Fury by 8-2 but O'Connor somehow got away with scoring it the other way on the night.

Both were a complete disgrace as it was that O'Connor was allowed to get away with similar for years afterwards.

This was bigger than the combined Hatton's Heist, Brinks Mat and Great Train Robberies

Well yeah, because he was robbed haha, but yes, Fury has improved out of sight since then and it wouldn't have made any difference to his career had he rightfully lost that fight. All it did was protect his 0.

There's 3 judges on English title fights now I believe it was because of this particular fight.

Two losses to Williams? Come on mate he clearly beat Williams that was a robbery. As he said on the podcast he won the ABA'S after 7 fights then went pro. He was still coming into his prime when he had those fights too.

As he talks about sparring names like Povetkin and doing really well. I think McDermott was and is better than Whyte.

Skelton and Williams in their primes were world level and as good as Whyte is today imo.
