Getting schooled for every minute of the fight for the full 12 rounds? Between two, at the time, highly rated / hyped fighters.
Maybe Hopkins Tavares cloud pops to mind. Forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm gonna go boxrec it now. Lol. Great thread!
I was gonna say Lewis vs Tyson but it ended in the eighth round. However even though Mike took it to Lewis in the first round he did not win that round by any solid punches, I guess you could give it to him being 'generous' . But anyway it was 7 and a half rounds of Lennox "lacyd" Tyson. Even big ol' George Foreman said "he (Lewis) almost damn near killed the kid (Mike).
Great thread. I cannot prove it but in my mind I came up with the phrase "he got Lacyfied" . Someone else has laid claim to it.
Bivol vs. Zurdo is a recent example. I've only been really into boxing for just under two years now, and that was the first time I live watched an extremely one sided performance from someone I was a big fan of, having become a fan of his after watching in real time that ass whooping he gave Canelo. Both were truly glorious performances.
