DLH was more skilled but never fullfilled his potential losing a lot of big fights, however Canelo was badly exposed by Bivol, he did look good in his last fight v GGG, who is the best name on Canelo`s record, nothing on DLH`s record matches that, so I might lean towards Canelo, however I feel DLH would probably have out-boxed Canelo in a very close fight.

Thing about GGG being the best win in their resume is that a lot of people have them being at least 1-1-1. ODLH did beat a lot of good fighters and had close fights with great ones.

    Im leaning towards ODLH.

He did accomplish something at jr lw, lw and jr ww if I remember this correctly. He beat Ike Quartey convincingly, draw with Tito, 1 legit win over SSM in their trilogy, wins over Fernando and Mayorga, he did get to retire his idol Chavez and he didn't do any worse vs Mayweather than Canelo did. Not sure if he beat Pernell Whitaker or not. And then there is the win over 41-0 Miguel Angel Gonzales.

Compare that to Canelo doing nothing at ww, getting beat at jr mw by Mayweather, going 1-2 vs Golvokin, beating a paid for clown at lhw and some hopeless dudes at smw.

Some of the big fights went AGAINST him though, whereas some of Canelo’s big fights went FOR him.

IMHO, Oscar definitely beat Tito, and Canelo was very lucky not to have lost the first fight against GGG.

Oscar also faced more prime, elite fighters.

He fought prime versions of Shane and Tito.

He fought a near prime version of Floyd, where he gave him a great fight for 9 rounds.

Whereas Canelo struggled with lesser fighters, fought lesser fighters, and could barely win a round off of a 36 year old Floyd.

Oscar fought the much better competition, and he didn’t struggle with the calibre of guys that Canelo did.

It's crazy how De la Hoya was able to win a world title at Junior lightweight. From 130 to 160 is pretty impressive.

If DLH was more disciplined at the time this wouldn't even be a question

Canelo was very lucky not to have lost twice to GGG. The first fight was a robbery, the least they can do is be fair in the 2nd fight. A win and a draw for GGG is barely acceptable, a draw and a loss is Absalutely insult to injury, lets say it like it really is.

Remember, Delahoya's 4th weight division was at welterweight where he fought the monsters of the division in Quartey and Trinidad. Canelo's 4th weight division is at light heavyweight where Canelo defeated a former monster well past his prime and got dominated by the fresher Bivol. Delahoya went up to fifth division and defeated a excellent young bigger champ in Vargas. That might be like Canelo going to cruiserweight and defeating a very good champ there. Canelo has a long way to go.

Badly exposed by Bivol? This is silly. Bivol is a light heavyweight. You can't keep going up and beating everyone. Did DLH ever fight a LHW like Bivol? Or even a middleweight? He lost to Sturm.

    Anyway, I prefer Oscar's style.

Oscar has the better resume and while some of his victories were questionable some of his losses were too. Realistically Canelo has lost all his biggest fights from Floyd to the first two GGG fights and the Bivol fight.

Oscar's light heavyweight was the welterweight division. Canelo would have to fight Beterbiev to come close to Oscar fighting Quartey.
