No one can beat him if he's on top form. Only way he loses is if he slacks off, underestimates and opponent or just has an awful off night.

What are you basing this on? Who exactly has he beaten to instill such confidence. Valdez sucks and has been bailed out by his power countless times and should've already tasted defeat against Conceicao. Fighting people his own size is going to prove a far more daunting task for the profoundly basic Stevenson. In fact, I'm not so sure he gets past Yoshino.

I'm a Yoshino fan (jk no idea who he is lol), but the only way this guy beats Shakur is with a lucky punch or Shakur just not training at all. C'mon CST Valdez does not suck, Shakur just made him look like he sucks.

What I have seen of Shakur has impressed me. I wouldn't bet against him any time soon.

He is a good boxer has good skills but he severely lacks power even against opponents who are a lot smaller than him so I doubt his power will improve at 135. Also his chin has never been tested and he has never been in a fight where he has to dig deep or overcome.

I would favor Haney by quite a bit over Stevenson. He is bigger, stronger and more technically skilled than Shakur. Haney by easy decision or late round stoppage.

I've hated Valdez for years, and predicted his doom against a slick fighter, I even called the upset that should've been but wasn't with Conceicao. Valdez's fundamentals are terrible, he went life and death with Velez, Marriaga, Lopez, Servania and Quigg. Before being bailed out by his power on a few occasions, as far as is win over Berchelt. Meh... PED's. Regardless, Berchelt is also overrated.

Here's Yoshino destroying the guy who was robbed against Teofimo Lopez and beat Verde-hoe senseless.

Stevenson certainly wouldn't have lost to either of those guys tonight who fought for his vacant belt.

Late round stoppage! Don't say this kind of stuff out loud you'll spook the delicate spirits that govern the chances of a slick vs slick match-up becoming a firefight.

Let’s not play up Valdez. He was on PEDs and lost the fight against Conceicao. That spectacle was a WBC gift.

Steveson is very good, but he has to prove it against the best to be considered the best and he hasn’t done it. Fighting a nobody at 135 is not a good start.

So this is basically a "nobody beats Buster Douglas on the night of his Tokyo win" thread.

Stevenson is possibly my favorite active fighter. I think he has serious talent but he has not quite been tested yet. If he secures the names at 135 we will find out where his level is. I think it's been a great statement as to how dominant he has been but I'd like to see him fight Haney or Loma or tank or Garcia. All solid fights and not easy to pick
