Well, take your r/boxingcirclejerk. And your r\boxing little boxing little r\boxing little meme there. And go on back to the r\boxingcirclejerk.
What is this "simp"? This another r/boxing thing? Little r\boxing gags here all of a sudden all of the time, like there never was a Classic. God damn kids.
The won a round thing without throwing a punch is false. I know this is a joke thread but I am legally required to point that out every time it's brought up. I don't make the rules I just make the rules.
Actually the more I stare at this image the more I get a headache. "Fought welterweight Robinson while a flyweight" Robinson was 123 and Pep was 122 for their fight. Maybe they mean that Pep was Amateur flyweight champion at the time. But then if that's the logic then why call Robinson a welterweight when he was never an amateur welterweight champ?
It is funny watching the mental gymnastics of people who swear that the guy who got stopped three times in four meetings by the other guy is the far superior fighter to the guy who kept beating him.
FAR superior may be a stretch, but are you saying that if one fighter wins a series over the other, then they have to be ranked above them, regardless of the rest of their respective careers? Who do you think has the deepest FW win resume of Pep and Saddler?
Pep is my #1 all time at FW & Saddler my #2. It's reasonable to postulate that the Saddler from their 1st fight would beat any version of Pep, imo. I don't know if he would, but I accept it's plausible. What isn't reasonable, imo, is to suggest that Saddler either matched Pep's consistent prime dominance over the best FW's in the world or has a FW win resume as deep as Pep's. I don't think it would require any "mental gymnastics" to demonstrate that, either.
