Because there's a precedent here, Wood is tough as nails and can fight through incredible adversity. He wasn't that badly hurt. Ben Davison royally ****ed up.

Yes I am a longtime fan of the sport but I honestly hand on heart cannot say Wood would have survived this at all. His defence was open enough and I did not like the effect Lara’s punches were having on him. Gatti powers of recovery work against some fighters and for others they don’t. We have something to look forward to in the rematch.

And there’s also precedent where a fight continued with less than 10 seconds left and a fighter was knocked out after being allowed to continue. Yea, his corner messed up. Hopefully there’s a rematch.

Of course he was badly hurt. He went down heavy and when he got up he was not in control of his feet and body. I don’t think you are in a better position than the fighter’s trainer to determine whether he has had enough. Let’s remember we have had fatalities in boxing.

I'm not disagreeing with you lol, but miniqs comment I believe was in regards to Lara taking a beating and walking through punishment in order to just not do enough and be complacent...

    If I understood it correctly...

Each and every permed strand momentarily straightened after the left hook that sent him to the shadow realm, a returned ticket apparently. Unfortunately, Davidson had already checked out his luggage.

If that were Tank Davis in there, and the corner threw the towel in, you'd be apoplectic. So cut the bull****.

Seems like if you're going to let your fighter continue in bad shape, the time to do it is when there are 13 seconds left in the round and the opponent is badly gassed. Then again, if you've chosen Ben Davison as your trainer you've probably already taken too many shots in your career and the towel is a good choice.

Wood is not Tank and I won’t question the trainer who should know better than the fighter what he can and cannot take. There is a difference between a trainer and a fan like you.

I disagree with that assessment though, our initial assessments were correct. Lara is a very limited fighter, who's easy to hurt, tends to be risk averse when hurt, isn't all that intelligent, and overly relies on his power to bail him out of sticky situations. There's no rhyme or reason or method to his madness. Wood is chinny and he lucked out. If Davison wasn't a *****, we might be praising the amazing comeback from a KD KO from Wood right now.

You really think that was a lucky punch from a guy who had been looking for it all night?

If Tank got brutally dropped like that, and was out on his feet, like CEJ. That would be cause for the ultimate concern, because he has a good chin, that would probably mean he was in TERRIBLE shape. Whereas this is par for the course with Wood. Like Austin Trout, he goes down nasty, but has excellent recuperative abilities. That hasn't been tested or seen with Tank.
