In theory yes. But Lewis wasn’t exactly a sucker for the left hook

For sure he’s dangerous, particularly in the early going - for all the excellent reasons already put forward.

Like most, I think Lewis ultimately prevails most of the time - and even then, it would probably involve more than 1 shaky moment.

A fight that would’ve been definitely fun to watch - always liked Sanders, his fast hands and the pop in them.

Sanders is a southpaw, the left cross is the danger. It's particularly dangerous as barely any of the ATG heavyweights fought a southpaw or certainly not many of them. Lewis only fought one and he's not near the danger level of Sanders.

Yes for a few rounds, but Lewis knew him fairly well from sparring so he wouldn't take him lightly. From a style perspective, he'd be one of the more dangerous opponents Lewis didn't fight, but not necessarily one of the best.

Oh did he actually spar him ? I had no idea. I honestly think out of the fighters that Lewis missed out on fighting apart from Bowe, Sanders is stylistically maybe the most dangerous fight for Lewis.

I heard stories that Sanders could not do road work for several fights but not sure if that is true. Sanders had his stamina flaws and possibly was not always in the best condition, that being said, Sanders had extremely fast hands and very powerful punch as well as a Southpaw style. I always felt Sanders could have beaten many fighters if given the opportunity.

Sanders was avoided for a reason and was another poor choice by Wad Klitschko's team, the first being fighting durable Ross Purity over a longer distance than the young fighter had ever fought against a man who had durability and stamina.

Sanders as we know him was a dangerous sniper - Vitali fought him the proper way although his chin was tested in the battle of attrition.

Yes, absolutely. Lennox had to be very careful agaist Corrie, especially in the early rounds. Combination of speed, size, power and unortodox style is always dangerous.

Sanders destroyed Wlad in 2 and had Vitali badly hurt early. Both are excellent boxers who went on to dominate HW division for a long time. Both haven't had that kind of troubles in any of their following fights since then.

If my memory can still be trusted I believe I read that they were somewhat friendly and had sparred a bit pre Wlad fight, so Lewis would have been aware of his talent.

Sanders never sparred Lewis as far as I know. Maybe Corey Sanders who is a different dude entirely

Sanders did no roadwork for the Rahman fight, that I know. He didn't seem to like roadwork at the best of times and when he got older this was a real problem. When he was a younger fighter he was always in shape.

His fight with Rahman is one of the best Heavyweight fights of 2000s an absolute war, if Sanders had beaten Rahman he may of got a shot at Lewis. As Rahman fought Lewis shortly after his win over Sanders.
