How tight should headgear be?

My coach always makes sure to tighten it as much as he can, but I feel like that causes headaches. What are your thoughts?

There's a sweet spot where it's just tight enough to stay still but isn't putting too much pressure on your head

If it’s too tight it doesn’t do it’s job. Cause it’s like attached to your head. It’s supposed to protect your head not be apart of it. You want it to be tight enough so it doesn’t fall off or feel loose but if it’s giving you any sort of dis comfort it’s too tight.

I think my new headgear is just a size too small. Today in sparring I had a headache, thought it might have been from a punch but it went away as soon as I took off my super tight headgear. It was expensive and I can’t return it. You think I’ll be able to just stretch it out a bit?

Hmm. Maybe. Or you could just fight like a man and forget the head gear! That’s what I would do but my coach won’t let me as apparently he has some sort if insurance policy or something.

Haha we’d all fight with no gear on if gyms allowed it.
