Where would you rank Lewis had he retired with an undefeated record?

If Lennox Lewis had retired undefeated, no losses to Hassim Rahman and Oliver McCall. I would have to place Lennox Lewis at the top, those two losses did expose his chin although he defeated both men in rematches. Every fighter has their weaknesses and their strengths.

I have him at #6. He would probably go up to #3 or #4 on my list.

How come there were never rubber matches with Rahman an McCall? It was 1-1 between Lewis and them so no clear winners there

You talk about countrymen , ferguson? Ha ha,You mean the guy who went an became a Canadian citizen when he was kid, boxed as a canadian twice in the Olympics an won the gold medal for Canada. This same guy with the canadian accent who when he turned pro decided to use England as a base because of the lack of competition there an declared himself a brit again though he retained his canadian citizenship an went back to Canada in between fights? An that’s the same guy that couldn’t get away quick enough from England an live in Jamaica an back in Canada as soon as he retired?

Ha ,ha an you talk to me about countrymen? you clown ferguson

I don't know but it sure would have settled any argument.

For me, it wouldn't change his ranking.

    I have him at three.

Had he not had the two losses, I would still have him at three.

He’s already Top 4 in my humble opinion. Without those two defeats he goes top 3, with an argument for being rated no1.

My reasoning is firstly that without those KO defeats he becomes only the 2nd HW champ to retire undefeated. That’s legendary status right there.

Secondly, unlike Rocky, he is a H2H monster. Size, movement, power, jab. The guy would be perceived as having it all. Plus assuming in this alternative universe, Rahman and McCall never knocked him down in their defeats, then Lewis would have gone his entire career not only never beaten, but also never put on his ass.
People would therefore deduce that on top of his other strengths his chin was pretty solid too.

Thirdly his victory over the gigantic, granite jawed, terminator looking destroyer Vitali when he (Lewis) was an out of shape old man would take on greater significance. The dangerous young gun being stopped when the unbeaten, grizzled old champ was way past his best would be the icing on the cake. People would be saying:
“This guy is unbeatable! He’s a monster. Ali, Holmes and Louis got their ass handed to them by younger fighters when they were old and done but not Lewis…this guy is the GOAT!”

Of course you just know he’d undo all his good work by chasing Marciano’s record. He’d believe his own publicity, think he was truly invincible and get KO’d by Wlad. And that would be that! Legendary status and his unbeaten record gone in a flash!
