A draw with GGG is tougher than narrowly beating Barkley. No special analysis needed.

 

I think you’re trying to get all personal instead of contributing because you know you’ve lost.

 

Head to head doesn't really equate to pound for pound ability.

The light heavyweight version of Hearns might beat the welterweight version in an actual fight but realistically Hearns is far more beatable at light heavyweight than welterweight. Likewise while the welterweight version of Pacquiao might beat the featherweight version in a fight he is more vulnerable at that weight.

Had Mayweather fought any version of Pacquiao at welterweight people would just argue Manny wasn't a great welterweight. He beat Juan Manuel Marquez who beat Pacquiao at welterweight and the win is downplayed by many as nothing special.

Hearns all the way. He beats Mayweather anyway he pleases. Mayweather probably doesn't win a round (except a round Tommy decides to take off).

 

I disagree entirely Pacquiao at Lightweight/Jr Welterweight, was far less beatable than Pacquiao at Featherweight who was one dimensional. Pacquiao improved significantly after beating Morales the 2nd time, and added more dimensions to this game

Your Hearns/Pacquiao comparison doesn't really work, because Pacquiao had his best wins/performance above Featherweight. Where as you can't really say the same for Hearns who looked vulnerable at above 154.

As for Marquez the fight was at catchweight i believe, and it was Marquez's 1st time venturing into that weightclass, and he looked soft around midsection and not in best of shape. But i don't believe any version of Marquez beats Mayweather anyway, who is a bad style match up for him.

As for Marquez KOing Pacquiao well Marquez certainly looked in much better shape, as he was working with a body building coach ? and started lifting weights for Pacquiao fight. Some people have suggested Marquez may of took PEDs for Pacquiao fight, but there's no evidence so it's pointless speculating. But he certainly looked in much better shape for the Pacquiao fight that we do know.

 

I agree that Canelo would beat Duran at above 154, but i think the fact that Duran was 37 years old fighting against a fighter who had significant height/reach advantages, aswell as the fact that Duran was fighting way above his best weightclass. It's a more memorable performance than Canelo getting a highly disputed draw.

I think a better comparison would be Canelo moving up to Light Heavyweight which isn't his best weightclass and KOing Kovalev.

Duran vs Iran was at MW, 4 divisions above Duran's best weight and the weight he first won a world title at. Duran was 37.

Canelo was schooled at 31, 3 divisions above his best weight/where he first won a world title, by Bivol.

Tbf, Duran lost at and beneath MW, but Canelo doesn't have a win that comes close to Roberto's over Barkley's on a p4p scale and that wasn't even Duran's greatest win.

 

Oh dear.

 

Not only was Duran 36/37, he was only 5’7, with a 66” reach.
