Won't shock me in the least if Canelo forgets about Bivol and pursues this fight next. Badou is old and has a belt, 2 of the 3 requirements for a Canelo opponent. If he didn't look good in the fight yesterday, it's the trifecta. He already talked about fighting Makabu himself last year.
Clenelo doesn’t have to come in at 200, he can come in far less. I think he sees this as a history making type bout.
It would be a dumb move for Canelo to move up to 200 as Jack is likely the only fight he can win there. Then what will he do make the same mistake as Roy Jones and move back down when he is nearing his mid 30's?
Bivol is a small 175 pounder and Canelo fans cried that he was much too big for Ginger Hulk. Now we are asked to speculate about 200lb fight weight? Lots of better options for Canelo and I hope he sticks to guys in his actual weight class. If big guys want to come down, it’s different but he’s too small to even think about 200.
I'm not a Canelo fan, he will always be a stained fighter in my eyes so I don't say this with any glee.. Canelo would smash Jack to pieces, TO PIECES.
I might be wrong, but when the Makabu fight was first mentioned, Canelo´s side said they wouldn´t put on any extra weight for it.
