I think Tommy Fury is in big trouble against Jake Paul.

Froch talking like Jake Paul is the one from the boxing family with a two time heavyweight champion for a brother and years of experience, amateur, training and pro.

He’s a weird one this guy. If you look at his post history he is basically very pro Matchroom to the extent that it’s fanatical. He also DMs me offering me out and sending racist diatribes and yet when provided a location and even the location of a boxing gym where he could come and spar he goes silent.

Jason, lad - you are an utter shithouse.

Love it, hate or just love Paul. Everything I wrote, not the part you quote, shows Tommy, having still some more work to do, is at least a class above Paul who's anywhere near a promising boxer so far.

Tommy Fury should just stay on that youtuber circuit, fight Jake Paul in rematch, fight KSI, then fight Logan Paul in a "brotherly retribution" fight. Make shitloads and stay in the public eye, as I'd be surprised if he even won a British Title

You can tell fury's been around the gym since a kid when you compare him to Paul. The fluid foot and head movement and untelegraphed punches. But he's still pants. It really shows how important genetics are.

Paul's probably got the better genetics but without enough gym time to bridge the gap.

Would make perfect sense as there's far more coin to be made doing that than fighting for an area title.

Yeah that sounded like I was disparaging the British Title, was more being critical the other way, as in I doubt he'd even get that far

If you're used to the limelight of being on ITV, living with a relatively famous influencer, brother of the heavyweight champion - the money and notoriety from youtuber boxing makes a lot more sense than an area or national title. In a sense I feel sorry that he's part of the Fury family because he can't really win.

Tommy didn’t do bad really. He is a novice. Did show improvements to his fundamentals and rightly or wrongly it was a big event.

He probably does need to decide now whether he either wants to be famous, or a boxer. If he wants to box he does need to knuckle down and take it more seriously, and spend less time promoting boo hoo and more time worrying about sparring and training

If he wasn't a Fury he would have been nowhere near love island and a celebrity but would probably be your average Joe. He'd probably have never had the notion to take up boxing either. He really did win

it doesn't take much time or energy to promote boo hoo mate

Most rich boxers do **** all while out of training, some public appearances and promoting brands. It's hardly a big deal for him to be doing that. If he wasn't doing that he'd be promoting something else

Well so he should be. Paul just picked up boxing a few years ago at the age Fury is now ffs

He hardly looked out of his depth against Fury and put him down with a jab.

i watched troy williamson get totally and utterly schooled by kelly a few months ago. Should Williamson pack it in? Williamson's options are nowhere near as fruitful as Paul's

The truth is Paul doesn't need to be a "promising boxer" because he's cleaning up. It's about making money and having fun.

It was a shocking spectacle, it was a tough watch, no quality, no real excitement in terms of actual boxing, the excitement was waiting for someone's humiliation (which didn't really happen) but incredibly I've seen worse on PPV, Haye Vs Harrison? Bellew Vs Cleverly II?

So how can I knock either of them? We all know what they are, we all know their levels, it was a couple of raw novices in a multimillion pound fight.... with all sorts of celebrities ringside and current world champions and ex world champions ringside.

It's easy to scoff, easy to criticise, easy to rip the pair of them but I can't..

I actually respect the hustle, they managed to drum up incredible interest, they made shed loads of money in this financial environment, it really is some achievement.
