So i was watching some Marquez videos today on Youtube, and wanted a intriguing match up for him that we haven't had on the forum before.
JMM is light years above Bramble in boxing skill .. Rasi was a style nightmare for Mancini because he had that ATG jab against Ray who would continue to come forward and get plastered .. JMM's movement and his counters would out point Bramble easily .. Big difference here in boxing ability imo ... JMM stops him
Agreed .. it also puts Mancini, brave as hell, strong, tough, hard punching, limited in perspective as well ..
it is a great point as Mancini had so much more to give in the sport ... . same as a Packey McFarland did ... when outside factors force you into an early retirement so to speak .. you end up where you end up
Marquez was a career world class fighter. Bramble only got on the scene because he caught Mancini at the right time and didn’t do much else.
Bramble beat up Crawley who was a very slick boxer and many people picked to beat Bramble. I think Bramble is too strong and also he switches alot which would cause problems for JMM. Bramble was very strong for a lightweight.
Bramble had an exellent jab and a tight defensive. For Bramble the problem for him would be that he only fought one way, arms tucked in tight to his body and chin tucked in tight while he shot out that jab. Marquez was just to multifaceted and shot out an array a different combination punches. For an idea of how a Marquez-Bramble fight would go, check out the Marquez-Juan DIaz fight. Diaz defends similarly to Bramble, chin tucked in and elbows to his side as his chin is tucked in. Check out how Marquez starts to figure out how to straighten Diaz up out of that shell defense by delivering perfectly placed uppercuts. The uppercut is what Mancini could'nt deliver on a prime Bramble that Marquez most definitely would. By decision or KO would depend on how bad Bramble would fight to win, but the only winner I see in this fight is Juan Manuel Marquez who's just well above the level of Livingstone Bramble even at his very best.
