I know what you're saying, and understand where you're coming from. But I don't think that tweet was written by a lawyer, and I don't think he's named a lab has he? So as yet I'm not sure whether libel/slander/defamation/whatevs has been committed yet ... anyone on here know about this proper? I think it's for VADA to reply if they feel inclined to do so. As it stands though it is does seem to be the end of the vague BS phase and heading slightly towards some nitty gritty. Let's see if it continues .... I've not really got my hopes up though :)

How many other athletes have had contamination issues with VADA when Benn was being tested?

Team Benn/Matchroom are very good at twinning the two tests together.

So ON BOTH failed tests all these Vada errors happened, yet have never happened with other athletes. They use accredited labs as well, so this isn't just VADA, this would a cross all sport.

The claims have been investigated and rejected. So clearly they ain't that solid.

The second test becomes irrelevant if there were flaws with the first test. All credibility of the testing is lost if what Benn said is true.

And this is where the contradiction comes into play.

Do you believe the WBC judgement was correct and the reason given was valid?

    If not why not?

You can't pick and choose what part of the WBC ruling you deem credible and which you do not. If you don't believe the egg consumption reasoning then why do you believe what they said about the testing?

I shouldn't be amazed at anything in the world of boxing, but the extent to which Matchroom have shot themselves in the foot over this fighter continues to baffle me. I wouldn't like to begin to quantify the reputational damage both to the image of the company and it's strongest asset, Eddie Hearn himself.

They presumably count on the short memories of boxing fans and the support of journalists who know which side their bread is buttered, but from the outside they appear to be taking a massive risk with questionable upside. I can see some cretins have been taken in on twitter, but even on their own followings there's plenty who can see the obvious lack of substance behind Benn's bleating.

The biggest mystery is why DAZN haven't reined them in over this, because they're the ones with a billion dollar exposure and a brand name that was supposed to be tied to the rejuvenation of boxing rather than the dragging of it further and further into the mud. Who knows, maybe in a couple of years Benn is raking in the millions and sufficient people have forgotten to allow Hearn to score this as a win, but I wouldn't want to bet a tenner on that, let alone the sort of money that DAZN have sunk into Matchroom's stable and Hearn's acumen?

I think you can mark this down to Matchroom having no interest in sport as such, they deal in content. Benn's recent troubles will pass and the content will resume one way or the other. DAZN buys content and most casuals watching will have no real opinion on Benn at all by the time he comes back.

You may be right Bob. I still wonder just how the risk / benefit analysis worked when this test first came up. I get it from Team Benn's side, they didn't have anywhere else to go, but for MR and DAZN it doesn't seen so clear cut to me.

If Benn is going to go fight in America he better be in against decent opposition otherwise he won’t sell. Casual Americans these days have no idea who Nigel Benn was let alone his son so he won’t get away with fighting bums like he did in the uk.

He can whine all he wants but he’s guilty as sin. I say that from someone who has taken god knows how many drug tests, the testers don’t get it wrong and certainly not twice. And that’s regular testing let alone VADA testing.

Biggest question yet to be asked-

why did both faulty tests detect the same drug? If they were contaminated you would think maybe the first sample detected chlomid and the second detected say 5 different substances yet they both just happened to detect two of the same performance enhancing drug?!!! That in itself proves it’s in his body.

I hope Vada come and ask for a hair sample but did he not shave off that beard he paid all that money for? Again a sign of guilt. Same reason Brittany spears shaved her head years ago when she was going through a custody battle, because her ex wanted drug testing to prove she wasn’t stable.
