    Top of the hour.

Prelims on Armenian combat sports network Ushatayka's channel on YouTube:

Main event possibly on there as well, but definitely to be aired live on Ren TV in Russia from 2pm EST. You're on your own figuring out what to do with that information, but Very Persistent Ninjas ought to manage.

Well...Balogun is definitely a step up compared to 42yo Welch and 46yo Cruiserweight Seferi.

But Gassiev should get it done.

For anybody wondering why this is in Yerevan, it turns out Gassiev (born in Vladikavkaz, Russia and currently training out of Big Bear in the U.S.) is now an Armenian citizen as of Wednesday. Wonder which flag will he carry into the ring.

Gassiev hasn't trained in the US for quite some time now. He's training a lot in Serbia and Russia obviously. Not sure if he switched to Armenia recently but the last time he trained in the US was probably years ago.

According to a Francisco Salazar article in Ring just yesterday he's still residing in and based out of Big Bear:
    https://www.ringtv.com/650183-mike-...ing-heavyweight-player-against-murat-gassiev/

...but I guess it's possible Salazar could have just been assuming based on outdated info. :nusenuse:

I know Murat was roommates and became friends with Arsen Goulamirian while they were both training at BB, and El Feroz is from Yerevan. Maybe he hyped up his hometown enough that it made an impression?

There is a Michael Balogun who is an actor. Pretty good one.

Michael Balogun is known for National Theatre Live: Macbeth (2018), National Theatre Live: Death of England - Delroy (2020) and War of the Worlds (2019).

Imagine he was the same guy? Those acting creds along with 20-0 pro boxer and NFL player? He'd be the quintessential modern day Renaissance man.

Not the kind of job you can spare a cheeky glance down at YT (on your phone if not a quickly minimizable computer window) now and then?
