Tbh, while I linked it, I haven't watched it for a while. But Sims did catch Earnie with a power right hand to put him down in the first round - and yes, I do recall that the count might've been a bit "affording" but I'd have to rewatch to confirm.

It was a short count compared to an impaired referee by the infamous name of Octavio Meyran who counts to 13.

Ah, but you not as dim as you sim. With a multi quote post I could only give you ONE "like", but now you get TWO, but it did cost you two posts so in net terms, it's scratch I guess.

As to Octavio "The Human Atomic Clock" Meyran, I reckon Sesame Street's Count Von Count could've done better. I wish Tik Tok Meyran was always my personal timekeeper when I ran competitive 100 m in High School - I would've been breaking records, left, right and centre..records unbroken to this day.

You could have broken up your post into 4 post which in turn gets 4 likes.

I just watched Kevin Kelley vs Troy Dorsey again for the 1st time in years frigging amazing fight here's my little write up.

    Kevin Kelley Troy Dorsey

    1 Kelley
    2 Dorsey
    3 Kelley
    4 Dorsey
    5 Dorsey
    6 Dorsey
    7 Kelley
    8 Kelley
    9 Kelley
    10 Dorsey
    11 Dorsey
    12 Kelley

    114-114 Draw

I've been waiting to see this fight again for years, as i didn't score it ages ago when i downloaded it.

I feel like there was a few key momentum swings in this fight. Rounds 4-6 were good rounds for Dorsey and it looked like Kelley might get overwhelmed. To Kelley's credit he sucked it up and boxed well between rounds 7-9, Dorsey comeback and had a strong spell in rounds 10-11, even badly hurting Kelley in round 11 and appeared to be somewhat close to stopping him. All credit to Kelley for sucking it up and having a strong 12th round, and appearing to have stunned Dorsey a few times with straight left hands aswell.

Overall amazing fight even better than i remember, this for me is the definition of a draw, and i would even say this fight should of won FOTY over Bowe/Holyfield.

I like your post but the word "Draw" is not allowed on this thread.

A bit of inside information buddy,

Shavers had gone to sleep prior to the Sims fight and was apparently woken up right before going out. Now i can't remember the story, whether the fight was moved forward or someone failed to wake him. At any rate he claims he was still waking up during the early going. It also may have been the fight where Shavers tricked him into slowing up pr Saintpats post a couple of years back.

N0, I hadn’t heard the dozy Earnie story before.

    Where’s that from chief?

I do know the dupe on Sims story.

Shavers described it in his book Welcome to the Big Time - the book title being the punchline he used on Sims after the fight.

Here’s a generous selection of extracts from Earnie’s book I read sometime back. I believe the description of the Sims fight is virtually right at the start.

At the bottom there are few of the usual testimonials to Earnie’s hitting power and -but it also includes a left oft seen testimonial from ref Mills Lane as to Earnie being the most powerful single punch hitter.

Yeah i have the book, cheers for the reminder.

Man this was in the thicker boxing mag of the time. For sure i still have it and if i come across it i will check it proper. Would be an 82 mag i reckon. Pretty sure it was Sims, Earnie was decked in round 1.

His right hand was boxing's version of Thor's hammer.
